Is AT&T down for you?
We're getting way too many tips on AT&T being down for it to be a coincidence -- how's it going for you? Both EDGE and 3G are pretty spotty for us at the moment in Illinois, but they're working in NYC, which jibes with reports of a Midwest-specific outage, but we're also hearing there are troubles nationwide. We've pinged AT&T for an official statement, but in the meantime let us know if things are working for you wherever you are.Update: Still haven't heard from AT&T, but we just rolled back into Chicago at 5PM CST and we can't connect on either EDGE or 3G. Let's hope things get better, and soon.
Update 2: According to AT&T, a power failure in Bloomfield, Michigan is the culprit, and techs are working around the clock to get everything back up in the Midwest. We're told rebooting phones may help -- it didn't do anything for us, but it might be worth a shot.
Update 3: It's back up, at least in Chicago. How'd everyone spend their day off-grid? We mostly threw the sad face at our NO SERVICE display.

I could not tack or receive any phone calls. I did still have 3G data.
No problems at all here in north seattle.
Yesterday, I drove from central MI to Cleveland and could not connect to ATT until somewhere east of Toledo. My Blackberry (aka, lifeline) was in SOS mode for more than 100 miles.
Our service has been down since Christmas in Hyannis, MA. It returns every once and a while for a few minutes, then disappears again. When I spoke with AT&T on Friday, they said there was a known New England-wide issue.
Did not read through all of the comments but 3G and Edge was down a good part of Dec 20th in the Boston area. The customer service person I talked to blamed a tower failure. Would be interesting to track this issue over time.

Everything seemed fine in North Carolina, yesterday.
I lost 3G and EDGE on my new BB Bold in Miami. I live in Chicago but am on vacation down here, I wonder if that could affect it. For several hours my phone had the little "SOS" icon for emergency calls only and I couldn't access wireless data.
Had 3G issues in the Boston area today. Again, AT&T blamed tower issues. The funny thing was my iPhone did not negotiate down to EDGE. 3G service is still down.
3G is not currently working north of Boston. But when I walked into one of the ATT stores it worked fine.
The person behind the desk had no knowledge of why that would be but did state that many customers who walked in could use their phones inside of their store.
Olympia, WA - intermittent Edge network service from Dec 20th to Dec 30th. Received 20 voicemail messages i did not know about all at once on the 30th, backdated to the 20th!
