iriver's Framee-M digiframe: only tolerable for Mickey enthusiasts
Man, it's amazing the difference a single letter makes. Take the Framee-L, for example -- a stately, classically styled digital photo frame that would do practically any coffee table proud. Now have a gander at the almost frightening Framee-M (above). iriver has evidently coerced Disney to afford it the luxury of producing this here digiframe, which -- sad to say -- looks downright shoddy from here. The unit will be made available in both Mickey and Minnie flavors, with each housing 1GB of internal storage space, a 3.5-inch 320 x 240 resolution display, SDHC expansion slot, a built-in clock and a multimedia player for good measure. It's taking Japan by storm as we speak for ¥9,999 ($111).

No widescreen? Forget it.
I'll take five of those plz.
Is the energy consumption of these digiframes really worth it? How often do you sit and watch the slideshow of all your pictures? is it better than investing in a 10 cent photo print and a seven dollar frame? or better yet, if you're at your desk just post them all on your cube wall. Besides, if you're that into watching 1gb of digital pictures horizontal sweep across the screen you should probably be fired.
Do you realize how many 320 x 240 resolution pictures fit in the built in 1024 Mb ? At an average 30kb each that's 34952.5(3) pictures !!! It's a good thing it plays video and audio but even still... you could easy have a couple of hours of video and still pack in a day's worth of slideshow pictures only in the built in memory !! The expansion slot may be ok for non-tech-savvy users but SDHC ?
can u say overkill ?
I still think digital frames are cool and worth it. Maybe they'll be even neater when they come with ePaper and similar nearly-no-power-usage technology.
Lol, energy consumption.
If they make a Goofy digiframe count me in
M-I-C-K-E-Y...man...thats...fugly...
I'm sure ol' Walts already spun ass up in his grave over this and other branded atrocities.
Disney is pure Marketing/Branding genius ... like them or not, they got this down to a science!
It's cute, but for my little sister or something like that. I prefer something that's a little more... grown up. like this:
