Pantech's Sky IM-S400L slider with "Glide Sensor" keypad debuted in Korea

Pantech's SKY division has just released the quite handsome, Korea-only IM-S400L. The CDMA slider boasts a 2.6-inch LCD, and a keypad using the company's new "Glide Sensor" technology which it says operates like a laptop trackpad. We don't have much else in the way of specs for this puppy, but we do know that it's available in white, pink, blue and green for ?500,000 -- about $395. Crème brulée is, sadly, not included.

Heart-shaped crème brulée is the best idea ever. Now that's something I'd like to see a USB gadget do for me!
I think thats coffee, not creme brulee.
Yeah, crème brulée bowls don't typically have handles.
You beat me to it!
I think you're right!
I feel sad saying this but... Am I the only one that when I see mention of Crème brulée I immediately think of High School Musical?
'Some day, I want to make the perfect Crème brulée' - Stick to the status quo.
Funny, I think of restaurants who can't come up with anything better for dessert :(
Apple, you have made me seriously question the age of the typical engadget comment contributor.
Um... Are you 12 by any chance?
I'm somewhat surprised by how many vulgar jokes my mind is racing to create out of "Glide Sensor". They are numerous and hilarious but for the sake of all humanity I will restrain myself from posting them. Hehe, Glide Sensor, hehehe.
awesome, keep those dirty fingers off the screen and on the pad where they belong.
so it's like the Zunepad, or a few dozen other "touchpad" type mp3 players that have been out for years? Would be good for most other functions, not great for inputting a phone number, though.
Sometimes buttons are really the best solution.
Er... Yeah, that's why it has a numberpad as well.
That "numpad" IS the touch-sensitive pad they're talking about.
RTFA.
Obvious Iphone rippoff.
*1 Its white (apple's patented colour)
*2 It has a glossy edge (so does the iphone)
*3It has an lcd (so does the iphone)
*4 it says "sky" on the front (I havent figured out how that's apple-related yet, but just you wait)
Sky - Typically the location where the heads of Apple users are found.
BlurMagic, I thought that was butt!
Now I've got it,
Sky -- The limit of apple's genius
@ Arlenko
While you limit your self to atmospheric conditions,
I'm the Moon. And I'm a PC.
It's arKenkLo.
If Windows is the moon then the sun is definatley Linux. Without it, the world as we know it (Internet) would die in a matter of days.
Oh, I mean Mac.
So Apple's genius is limited by the stratosphere?
Or w/e -sphere is should be, my middle school science class was not exactly fun
@Arkenklo
"Obvious Iphone rippoff."
*1 Its white (apple's patented colour) THE iPHONE IS BLACK. APPLE DID NOT PATENT THE COLOR WHITE
*2 It has a glossy edge (so does the iphone) MOST HIGH TECH DEVICES ARE GLOSSY NOW, AND CERTAINLY BEEN THAT WAY LONG BEFORE THE iPHONE CAME OUT
*3It has an lcd (so does the iphone) 99% OF PHONES NOW USE LCD SCREENS
*4 it says "sky" on the front (I havent figured out how that's apple-related yet, but just you wait) THIS IS POSSIBLY THE ONLY THING THE IPHONE, AND THIS CELL PHONE HAVE IN COMMON... THEY BOTH HAVE LAME NAMES.
Douche... /wrist moron
Dude, your sarcasm detector is SERIOUSLY broken!
I'd get that checked, douche!
Someone's sarcasm detector is SERIOUSLY broken.
get it fixed, douche.
Unless a cellphone is going to come stateside I really don't care. This kind of thing should be on Engadget Mobile.
I don't care either way, I live in Sweden.
I am so sorry for you. But I still think that it should be on Engadget Mobile. The news there is basically just a cellphone only version of the news on regular Engadget. Someone new should decide where these stories should go.
I need one with an astroglide sensor. I've ruined three phones that way.
Mitch Mitch Bo... Banana Fanna fo ...
I like to see all phones worldwide, japan Asia euros etc,. They've all been impacted somehow by the revolutionary iPhone ,the one by which all touchscreen phones are measured. Has set the bar very high,2 years later n still nothing that can beat it
So I take it you REALLY like the iPhone then?
Is it just me, or does the third shot show the LG icon below the coffee?
Right. That's LG icon.
But that's not LG Electronics. This phone is for LG Telecom.
LG(Lucky-Goldstar) is a huge company group in South Korea includes chemical, oil, construction, communication, food, bio tech, electronics, etc...
