The 'Kissing Octopus' flash drive: perfect for your clingy significant other
The T806 Kissing Octopus Flash Drive from A-DATA may not be the greenest or the highest capacity flash drive we've seen to date, but it may darn well be the cutest. Just announced as a winner of an iF Design Award, this 8-legged drive comes in light pink and sky blue hues, and 2 / 4 / 8GB varieties. The two-piece contraption consists of the octopus body as well as the USB / nose part, which has a magnetic end which can be used to make a pair of octopuses a couple (or be used to stick love notes to metal surfaces as pictured above). The 4GB version can be yours now for around $65 -- a little steep for a bit of mushiness -- but at least you'll have something other than a boring dozen roses when February 14th rolls around.

Looks like those legs could get another party going as well if you're creative enough.
It's just pure win.
Mutant udders!
I can already smell the class-action lawsuit that'll be resulting from the many wiped hard-drives that magnet will cause.
Normal everyday magnets do not interfere at all with hard-drives, try this on externals or even on laptop ones. Makes no difference at all, you'll need super heavy duty industrial or electromagnetic magnets to do any damage.
I don't know about 'super strong'. I once disassembled a harddrive and used it's magnets do destroy another harddrive. Worked like a charm.
While I were at it I planted it over the GPU whilst it were running. Lots of fun.
sorry, but this magnet will never ever harm a harddisk even if it is directly next to it. only super-stron magnets even delete data on harddisks.
by the way, i like the design!
This gets a design award? There's the iF's credibility gone out the window...
They had one? Design awards, the PR agent's wet dream, way too often tell me to better stay away from another looky great no worky well product, or at least make me look very hard, especially if adored with the wicked RED DOT.
I giggled. :)
Octopi? They look more like pigs...
genetically engineered cyborg pigs with 8 legs and removable USB snouts!
mutant piggies! NOOOO!!!
Octopigs?
That's allotta ham.
that blue guy in the back has one mighty odd fetish...
iShudder at the text on the note.
Since the opposite polar ends of a magnet attract each other, I'm guessing that there isn't going to be any girl-on-girl or boy-on-boy action going on with these things. I can already hear the grumbling of the GLBT octopi community.
Doubles as a personal massager.
Udders of love.
Ahh! Its a happy looking Bigocto
