How desperate Xbox owners are to hide their shame. However good this may look, it still won't play as well as a PS3, nor will it work as well as a PS3, and it won't be as reliable or quiet as a PS3 either.
Sorry, for that, you need to BUY a PS3.
My PS3 makes far more noise than my 360 and now has fuzzy lines on the screen. Therefore its broken. Second time. Sony won't fix it. Yet my xbox 360 was fixed within a week.
You+broken PS3= Fail.

I remember the first time I booted up a PS3. I honestly thought I was on an aircraft carrier.

Man, that list is full of mediocre titles and some downright HORRIBLE things that shouldn't even be called video games. You have destroyed your point whithe your overzealous response. I wonder if I can trick people into playing Coffeetime Crosswords adn shrek n' roll for more than an hour.

so you are saying I cant play 'cofeetime crossword' and 'Shrek'n Roll' on my PS3..... Seriously what am I going to do? A more cogent argument would be to generate a list of exclusives that people will actually play of both consoles and compare the meta score of each title. instead we are greeted with the entire library comprised of ~90% crap ware. realistically, other than Fable II, Gears, Halo, Too Human (if it doesn't suck) and a few select others the Xbox doesn't have many game changing exclusives.
On the other hand the ps3 has MGS:4 (If you like that sort of thing), Little big Planet, Killzone 2 (if it doesn't suck) GT:4, Uncharted 1-2, Valkyria Chronicles, and any number of Bluray movies. Perhaps it is not the quantity of titles available but the quality. You would think that a console with a longer duration in market would have a more robust library of exclusive titles. Sony is fighting an uphill battle because of the 360's early launch to market not because of content availability. Compare the consoles on a synchronous time line and the PS3 has a comparable amount of similarly rated titles per its respected age than the 360. The 360 has reached the apex of it's life cycle, being early out the gate doesn't mean first to finish.
But hey, If you like Gears, Halo or anything else the system has to offer buy a 360. I wouldn't blame you, its awesome. Don't get online and say your 360 is better than a console that has had significantly less time to maturate in the market. Go to college and take a research seminar before hitting up a wiki so you can get some resemblance of subjectivity. That being said a Wii in a ps3 or 360 case would be the only way either manufacture would push serious numbers.

I know I posted this before, but your statement is absolutely ridiculous so I'll post it again.
Exclusives out now:
-LittleBigPlanet: It isn't childish, it's alot of fun when you get into it - couldn't stop laughing the first time I played.
-Resistance 2: Awesome game, cool weapons, 60 players online (which works like a charm, PSN doesn't suck here at all).
-Motorstorm Pacific Rift: Very nice successor of Motorstorm 1, much better graphics and gameplay.
-MGS4: Unbelieveable graphics, gameplay is again very awesome, the best PS3 game if you're a MGS fan.
-Valkyria Chronicles: Unique, but cool graphics. Very nice RPG to play.
And some upcoming exclusives which look very promising:
-Heavy Rain
-MAG: 256 players online!
-Final Fantasy Versus XIII
-Killzone 2: However alot of people didn't like Killzone 1 (which wasn't very bad at all), alot of in-game footage make this game look awesome.
-Gran Turismo 5
-God of War 3
-inFamous
-Uncharted 2
Just to name a few of the best ones. So much for not enough exclusives I suppose (and since when does quantity equal better quality..?). And however it's a little more expensive than the Xbox's games, you get a lot more content thanks to Blu-Ray as opposed to DVD (50GB vs 9GB). I think it's worth the extra 10 or so dollars. Especially when you look at the awesome exclusives still coming out, it's safe to say the PS3 is very competitive even though it's twice the price of the Xbox 360 (the cheapest version WHICH DOESN'T COME WITH AN HDD, yeah thanks for this great update which lets you install games.. On your HDD).
I'm STILL waiting for a wiistation 360. Then, my life will be complete. Not a moment sooner.

Funny part is modders have done more to fix the 360 then Microsoft has done since day one.

Either way, I agree. This takes the cake for the worst mod job I've seen in a long time. It looks absolutely terrible. I'd expect that it's some 15 year old who got his hands on his daddy's tools.

Not even close. I could do a better mod by putting my laptop in a cereal box and knifing out a slit for the DVD drive.
With case transplants, you need to replace parts to make them fit as they would for the original case. So you'd replace the 360's drive with a slot-loading drive and put that where the PS3's Blu-ray drive is. You should also desolder the ports and extend them to the back of the new case (or at least replicate them). Doing that, you'll probably need to rework the heatsink. It's a lot of work. If you don't put in the work, you won't get a good product. That's why Ben Heck's mods are so awesome - there's a lot of work put in to them, he doesn't just pick up the mobo and put it somewhere else.

Well, looking at the pics on his website it looks a bit.. iffy, he basically cut a huge hole in the front for the drive, would have been better if he had got a slot loading drive off the other guy!
And the back looks awful, but, to each there own!

It'd be like the guy that called AppleCare about his Dell laptop with OS X on it. Many laughs were had.
Looks like an absolutely terrible hack job. Someone modded an X360 for slot loading drive...i'm sure that could have been done to use the original disc drive area. And all the ports I'm sure could have been cut cleaner. Overall a poor job.

Yeesh... hate to cut on someone's hard work but.... he put a usb port on the side but didn't hook it up because it was too hard...? What's the point then? If rewiring/extending a usb port is too hard, then any kind of modding is going to be out of your league.
Same goes with the hard drive and dvd drive wiring which could've been done easy. Oh well... if he enjoys it, then I say keep practicing. :)

I take it you've never actually looked at any benchmark comparisons have you? Gamespot has one up right now comparing the 360 to the PS3 to the PC if you'd like to educate yourself. The PC shines above the two consoles (obviously) and the 360 (for the most part) beats out the PS3.
Most people assume that just because the PS3 is more powerful on paper that it should perform better in games, but that's simply not the case and never has been.

I agree with that statement. Why would you want to mod a PS3 case to fit a failure of a console inside? Because you are too ashamed that you own an Xbox, so the only way you lessen the guilt is by pretending it's a PS3? Um, okay, that's graded a fail. I'd give it an A for effort, however, you can clearly see the "cooling system" peeking out of the PS3 bluray slot, and while the blue neon glow is nice, it doesn't hide the wide open, gaping hole for the optical drive. Even the inside looks terrible - like the aftermath of a vulture attack.
I'm sorry, but no matter how much you mod an Xbox, it will never look as good as the PS3 nor will it perform as nice. When lol$oft finally wakes up, and realizes that giving its consumers something better than "3 year extended warranty" which still doesn't fix the [melting GPU] problem, it will never be on par with PS3. EVER.

This can no doubt be done better. The PS3 already has a perfectly good disc slot, and it seems downright wasteful to tear out a chunk of the machine so it can have a drive.

I agree. Next year the ps3 will put out a game that out does any 360 game. If not you just wait until the year after that. If that isn't enough time you just wait for the year after that! Sony new slogan should be "Wait until next year!" (nevermind its been 4 years later)
Really, was this even NEWS??? Maybe for worse MOD ever. It was plain DUMB concept in the first place. No need for a 360 in a PS3 case or a PS3 in a 360 case. I just don't get it. The job looks like a 12 year old did it.

A Disc loading slot that does nothing, just another worthless hole. Lets call it Vent Slot.

I'm going to have to come up with a quick stupid and Cappy electronic thing of some type, slap it half ass together, and post it on the web for Engadget and post it on up and then we can all comment on how stupid it is. I'm thinking along the lines of Taping a Web cam on top of my Roomba, and then I can all it my Poor Mans Mobile Web Cam. I could then post my Pictures of doing it. A picture of my Roomba, Then a Picture of my Web Camera, and I have this role of Gorilla Tape. It's pretty strong, I can show How I tape the camera down so it doesn't fall off. Maybe stick on some type of flashing light to make it really COOL.
