I never said the Zune should be obsolete. I want someone to explain to me why it's okay to bash Macs for market share, but not Zunes? I think most Zune users would say that they believe that the Zunes are better, but that's the same argument used by Mac fanboys, isn't it?
There's a big difference between the two... with operating systems, the market share determines the level of third party support and volume of apps that are developed for each OS. Not that OS X doesn't have fine programs available for it, but the amount of apps available for Windows dwarf that of OS X by far.
On the other hand, when it comes to a device in which all the functions the device will ever have are under the sole control of it's creator, market share matters far less. A Zune will have as many features as Microsoft chooses to put on it, and an iPod classic will have as many features as Apple chooses to put on it.
So far Paul Chapel has posted 25 times in this topic.
hilarity.
now let's count how many times he's said "10,000 apps in the App store". I'd say at least 5, but I got bored and stopped reading all his posts and just hit the little red minus sign whenever I saw his name.
New trolls are newer than old ones, and just as respected.
This embarrassing fiasco that has now been engraved within the publics mind that MS the biggest "me too" company on the planet, continues to produce subpar products. This pie in the face incident, trumpeted throughout the world has done tremendous harm with the Zune brand name. Yet MS will continue to forge ahead with this wannabe iPod player despite abysmal sales and laughable industrial design, because they are just a "me too" player.
Once again Jubei, your argument has once again amazed me: false facts, subjective views, and no evidence. The Zune, on the market for only 2 true generations and for less than 3 years, has had brilliant sales and is well-designed. Even the iPod's infamous clickwheel is no longer the giant it once was, and the Zune trackpad offers not only intuitive navigation, but enormous potential. Yet one thing is laughable: this incident. In but a few years, we will all look back and remember Z2K9 and its humorous results. MS reputation has not been hurt, but Apple fanbois would never reveal such a thing.
ipod is a me too. product. IIRC, creative was the first to release a HDD DAP. APple had to pay Creative to continue using that menu system, you know: Music, Playlists, Artists, Albums, etc. Who really copied who here?
lol
Jubei has never realized that with the given market, the Zune, as a new(er) product to the competition is doing exceedingly well and gaining steam. I think he's scared that the only market Apple has managed to hold on to may be getting a little bit more loose. Tell me again, Jubei- what is Apple's computer market share? LOL! I guess when you've only got one thing, you gotta' make the best of it.
He may think the Zune sucks, but I have two- the thirty and he eighty. Both have lasted longer than my previous three iPods, and the Zune software destroy's iTune's spreadsheet style, computer lagging bullshit. Have also owned numerous Philips GoGears, Creatives, and iRivers. All of them rank above iPods in my opinion because of the simple fact that they don't use iTunes- even if the player themselves weren't that great.
I'm happy to report that my Zune is fine now. One small glitch is a small price to pay for having the world's greatest Digital Media Player.
...With my day of Zunelessness I streamed some movies at home on my Xbox 360 and went out and watched a movie with friends.
"I'm happy to report that my Zune is fine now. One small glitch is a small price to pay for having the world's greatest Digital Media Player."
Many Millions disagree.
LOL i guess ill be the the bastard
MY meizu m6 kick your ipod and zune ass any day the week
on sound quality, easy of use , better file format support
and best part is i don't need bullcrap syncing software for it
but if u like u can just use windows media player or winamp or what ever y u want although i don,t but some do
but the part i love the most is i can go to any computer plug it in and IT JUST WORKS
sound quality and ease of use are a tad subject to opinion, but windows media player is the best music software. itunes and zune software are resource hogs
Wouldn't you lose those 10 downloads if you didn't use them during the zunelessness, if you hadn't already used them?
no, all the music is saved on your "zunetag" in the zune software
I'm just gonna take my Zune to the Zune Store where I bought Zune Care and hopefully the Zune Genius can repair or swap my Zune out for me....After all, Vista's ability to prevent virus' has allowed me to download all the Limewire videos of Soulja Boy I can handle and not worry about toasting a hard drive or two....
As for those Apple Geek Squad guys....what a disaster....Big Box, uneducated and horrific knowledge of product and consumer needs....Those Apple stores are so inconvenient. But those Zune Stores are awesome....I even got a free Zune with my Dell and free printer for back to school....
Zune Stores kick ass!!!
errrr......wait....My dyslexia kicked in there....
where are these zune stores you speak of?
Oh, your current mental condition isn't dyslexia.
That being said, how IS that extra chromosome working out for you?
On a side note.. anyone notice that the zune now has a clock?
yeah, ever notice how it sometimes takes a second for it to reset to the correct time when exiting the music menu? but its always accurate : )
I've read some of the comments here, especially those that attack Apple in favor of Zune.....and I've one thing to ask the Zune users:
Are you fuc*ing kidding me?
Your box doesn't work, or didn't work because of some "glitch", and yet you STILL bash Apple's iPods? You mean, the iPods that WORK without a glitch like Zune? You mean the iPod that WORKS period, bunkie? Ok....let me piss some of you M$ monkeys off.......First of all, your platform of choice isn't all THAT secure; secondly, your platform of choice has back doors which are open to not only M$, but the Feds as well.....just TRY to close it, if you can find it.....and more importantly, M$ KNEW that the Zune would have this problem MONTHS ago, and yet decided to wait to announce that there was a problem. I'd say that the people who purchase their products from the aforementioned greedy computer company (M$, for all of you OTHER lemmings who don't have a clue) DESERVED your zune crashing, and good luck getting your music back! To those who have rescued their zunes from a fate worse than death, good for you......just be aware that there's more problems coming down the pipe.....but, again, that's what you get for using technology designed with CONTROL in mind, rather than enhancing your experience. Too bad, really.
Dam some didnt score for new eve did they
but nice job on over exaggerating the zune glitch "a faith worse then death " kinda over kill don't u think considering it boot it right back up 24 hours later and "good luck getting your music back! " well i guess i got lucky because the little women still has all her music on it and fully functional
U must be use to ipod and when they crash u loses all your music. I am sorry but my little women zune didn't hijack my music folder like another player software does so if it wasn't on her player it still on the computer and would easily be restored
dude got get laid u sound like u need it
the music for the zune is all saved in your music folder, if you lose the hardware your music is still there, and you can drag and drop music from multiple players . plus, if your zune crashes, pressing the left and top part of the trackpad resets it instantly.
iPods do have glitches. That's the REASON i switched to Zune.
yeah, just save yourself the hassle and buy the classic ipods
and live with itunes and that clickwheel? no thanks, get a used creative zen or better yet, a new one for the price of a used ipod
I wish Creative made HDD players still. My Vision M was the best player Ive ever had, hands down.
iRiver too. Its a shame there are so few high capacity players.
I was lost without my Zune.
I actually had to burn a CD to listen to in the car.
An entire CD! Do you hear me Microsoft? I had to spend $0.04 on a CD because you made my Zune self destruct!
cds = better quality anyway
Not if he burned it from his mp3 collection...
Wow This thread is scary indeed. Guys taking it way too serious and i think all of you should get laid lol. I used to use an ipod but i prefer the sansa players. Easy to upgrade the memory. I wonder how people here would react the ipod has a glitch. Ipods don't have great sound at all. Sure it may look classy but the sound quality. There are way better players than ipods.
i had a sansa player once until it was stolen, one thing i've noticed about non-apple daps is how easy it is to sync music. i had to sync my friends ipod to my music collection this week and was frustrated by the requirments of having to wipe all the music off your ipod before syncing it to another computer and having to give your credit card number to them to start an account. its ironic that the apple fanboys call microsoft, "M$" since apples format is the most expensive
GAAAH i hate apple
GAAAH i hate zune
GAAAH ignore the fact that apple makes a good product
GAAAH ignore the fact that Microsoft just said how to fix the zune
lets all go back to cassettes, there was less bickering whining complaining and irrelevancy then.
DISCLAIMER: this message was not targeted at anyone, but the amount of arguing was astonishing, i just looked at the comments to find out if the fix worked for people who tried it and i got barraged by BAAH APPLE BAAH MICROSOFT. just take a shot of some lemon juice and read a good book, that oughta clear some minds.
P.S. glad to hear it worked for the people who actually posted about their successes, thank you.
P.P.S, sorry for posting something irrelevant, but it seemed necessary with the shear amount of BLAAH and GAAAH ing.
P.P.S, i like PC's and MAC's, a zune and an ipod, and i love them all equally.
I'm a mac user/fan myself, but I'll say this.
Paul... STFU. People like you make Apple look bad. Scratch that, people like you make HUMANITY look bad.
Ive got a free ipod video from a contest 2 years ago... pretty happy with it except for some bugs when listening to audiobooks not made by Apple...
BUT I would not have spend 300$ to get one... any 8gb mp3 player with a screen where I can see the name of a song would have been just as nice. I dont think I will ever spend more than 70$ for an mp3 player.
When does the linux on zune work began?
That most special of breeds, the Linux + Microsoft fan.
