Vuzix to unveil new, less cool-looking HMD at CES

Looks like we'll all get our first good look at Vuzix's newest head-mounted display -- the Wrap 920AV -- at CES in a few days. They're apparently very similar to the company's previous offering, though they boast a totally fresh appearance. Vuzix promises that the optics have been improved and will offer a better viewing experience, but we don't have any other specifics about the device yet. We'll definitely check them out in Vegas, but we have to say: the Geordi La Forge look was way better than the new wrap-shades, guys.

firstest
fail
exactly first to fail on this post :)
Hmmm, it says, "firstest." Looks to me like sam was just curious: What is this whole 'first' thing about? Will I actually be first just because the article displays with "0 comments"? (No.) Is there really any lasting satisfaction to be had from this? Is it possible for me to become a complete moron loser just by acting like one? (Yes.)
Sam, we all hope you've learned from this. Now change your screenname, and NEVER do it again.
And I bet you can't use this one to see human vital signs, monitor moods, or detect lies, either.
Imagine you were taking a long flight...
all you really need is a pair of these; a DAP filled with porn, a bottle of lotion and one (or two) of those airline blankets.
Noone will ever find out
The next person to use the blanket will.
the next day, you'll find yourself on youtube.
Cyclops. Who knew he'd be fashion-forward?
Where is the data orifice? Wireless?
I know it's corny, but I like these things! (I don't go outside much, so it's ok, I think...)
Wake me up when they're at least 720p
WAKE UP WAKE UP!!!!!
Oh, sorry, false alarm.
I don't care what they look like since my eyeballs are on the inside. Who's wearing these out on the street other than to look at lo-rez porn while driving?
Sony incorporated aswell, those headphones are MDR-EX71's
Heh, I was just about to comment that.
Are those among the buds whose cords turn to jelly?
Specs are overrated anyway. I'm with Labrador, let us know once these hit 720p or some other usable resolution that is noticeably above 640x480 or whatever blurr these cheap models usually have. Porn comes in HD these days.
I'm the Dog...the big bad Dog...the bounty hunterrrr...
Yeah! He wears those hideous Oakley/Moto bluetooth shades I think.
And it can also be used as a hat
*humph*
Useless without Head Tracking for Gaming!!
:)
I love "Stereo Vision" or else Computer Vision !!
I wonder what price they ll have through.
I don't mind them either. They are WAY better than HMDs I've used in the past. I had one of the older ones. It was like having a 4x4 strapped to your forehead.
I myself have the Vuzix VR920 vizor, (the geordi model) but I think these look much better..
As for people who claim 640x480 is not usable, have clearly never actually used these vizors themselves.. Ofcourse 1280x720p would be awesome, but 640x480 is also great.. it really is a different experience as opposed to 640x480 on a regular LCD screen..
These are a definite step forward in HMD design, and I hope the other brands follow suit. This is the sort of unit they should have presented at last year's CES, unlike the weird HMDs that Myvu (the crystal and shades units) introduced.
How can anyone say they would rather wear the Geordi La Forge type? At least I can see myself walking on the street with these.
wow.,so are these considered smart sunglasses.,?u know how iphone has mp3 player n its smartphone.,
What da fu** does the fruitphone have to do with this?
Dammm Im tired of that device.
A pair of these combined with something like Enkin sounds like an idea...
Pretty sure most of you have heard of Enkin, but if not

They look like Oakley's deformed cousin.
i like the headplay visor better than these glasses
