Suzuki Xbox dashboard mod for the undignified gamer on the go

Some Xbox 360 mods are the product of serious craftsmanship, some are rather silly, and some -- like this Suzuki automobile console / Xbox 360 game console hybrid -- really give one pause. This isn't the sort of thing that one spends moments / hours / weeks on, after which he reflects for a moment ("Aren't I rather clever?"), and then hides it safely in the closet (or sells it on eBay). No, this is an automobile. We're guessing that the slight cringe of embarrassment he's going to feel when picking up his date for the cotillion will be outweighed by the safety and security he feels knowing that he can always play the Super Smash Bros. Brawl -- even on the road. According to the photo's description on Flickr, this car features not one but two Xbox 360s, two projectors, and two flat screens. The game controllers are availabe at a moment's notice -- including one in the steering wheel, one in front of the gear shifter -- and one of the 360s is set in the dashboard. Oy vey.

Or or or, Super mario Dreamcast!
Accident waiting to happen?
Well I guess if you're a Suzuki owner you don't care about safety in the first place so why not mod your car to INSURE crashs.
OK, that pun is most Assuredly lost on some of you so......... I'll just fade away with my low rating now.
with the coming generation of internet connected cars and connection anxiety prone drivers, a 360 is just overkill; young drivers are already insured to crash. I voted you up. twice.
nice of you to put that comment up before you even got a low rating, solarpos.
You should "insure" you take some English courses! I think you mean ensure!
Oh, and the plural of crash is crashes! Perhaps maybe you hurt your head in "crashs", and the resulting brain damage affected your grammar and spelling!
Canman99,
That's the PUN he was talking about. I find your lack of humor more entertaining that his attempt at it.
Canman99.
Oh, and "Perhaps maybe" is needlessly redundant. Sloppy syntax my boy.
Just one question, Where's the frickin' air bag for the driver??
Doesn't matter, the RROD will kill him anyway.
it's the controller. duh.
Who needs airbags, just respawn!
Thats AWESOME!
Very clean looking mod.
Omg if he crashed and the the controller will shoot at his head because of the airbag. He would be killed by an xbox 360 controller..thats low
or you could be Tony Stark, and the controller would embed itself in your chest, inches away from your heart but held back by a superpowered electromagnet.
How can someone be smart enough to pull off that mod yet dangerously stupid to even think of doing this mod in the first place.
20 years from now people will be looking in the lawbooks, asking themselves why Virginia would pass a law banning Xbox-automobile mods.
That's a good question. I'd say it's for a bit of publicity. No one ever got postings on gamer/gadget websites by saying "Hey, it would be cool to integrate a gaming console into my dashboard.", I wouldn't think. Actually pulling it off makes for a great story, photos, and recognition. I don't think he'll actually use it while driving. I certainly hope he doesn't. I really really hope he doesn't.
Engadget has learned that by intentionally putting mistakes, errors, typos, etc. in their posts they crank up their page hits as folks rush to point it out in the comments.
if not looking at the road doesn't kill you, the heat leaking from the console to your engine will!
It shows how pedantic we all are too
Not needed, if he owns a Xbox, he is clearly a braindead moron already.
wow, my bad, didn't mean to reply to you...it was supposed to be a standalone comment.
Perhaps Sony should lay off their undercover trolling division.
HAHAHA! THAT'S SO FUNNY CAUSE ITS SO TRUE OMG
Halo 3 LAN party on wheels! Really 'though, I don't see any practical application for it. I mean, come on, the driver can't play and what are you going to do with so little room in there?
Who said anything about practical. This is just cool. Great fit and finish by the way.
I can't figure out what the biggest fail of this mod is: the Xbox360 crap, or the head unit in the glove compartment.
that's a radio.
And "head unit" is the correct term used to describe the controller for a stereo system.
@ Sachin: What the hell did you think I was talking about when I said "head unit?" I'm genuinely curious, because I've never heard the term used for anything but a car stereo. 0_o
Wait... where's the screen?
they couldn't find anywhere else to put it, so they just aimed the projector at the windshield.
Oh great! Nothing like a little GTA while cruising around town.
you can flee cops in real life while fleeing them in the game too!
is it just me or is Engadget writing up these articles slower and slower...?
Welcome to Engadget Sunday
Where's the reset button?
...that he is obviously going to need?
This would be awesome if it was a a drivers seat and dashboard converted into a setup for serious driving sim games, but its not so its not.
You want a serious race sim in a CAR????
You're a little sick, my friend...
What will this car need first? An oil change or a replacement for the red ringer?
Brawl on 360? haha
Imagine getting a ticket with this thing, "Hey sorry about speeding, you wanna play?"
You wanna pay extra for unlawful vehicle modification? The airbag has been removed or so it seems...
have you seen ExistenZ movie?
Now just use the car as the head for a giant robot...
What happens when the Air Bag deploys? Game Over..
