Oh hells yes. We've
arrived at CES in full nerd style. We sent
Moms to Atlantic City so us kids could hijack the trailer all the way to Vegas baby, Las Vegas. And in true Kojak style we parked right in front of the central hall just outside the Las Vegas Convention Center. What better base to provide the best CES 2009 coverage on the Net? Check our first pass on the show floor after the break. With roots now planted and enough gadgets to keep us busy 7 by 24... we may never go home.
Yes, we can imagine Sony's new
Vaio P-Series ultra-portable.
Stealth mode: on.
Unannounced Samsung BD-P4600 Blu-ray player under wraps and looking sleek.
Samsung's latest Direct Methane Fuel Cell (DMFC) power modules looking close to production ready (we wish).
A little bit closer.
And again.
An early
DMFC prototype first spotted back in 2007.
Powermat
promises to have its wireless charging mat on shelves for 2009. We'll see.
Another variation of the 5 charging mats they'll be showing off. Hello induction charged BlackBerry Storm.
The
Sharper Image brand is here riding on Apple's coattails. Feels kind of icky.
Wow I always think I'm hardcore cause I read the Engadget blog, I didn't realize you guys were so big you have a TRAILER to drive you around. I guess I need to find a more obscure blog now.
Must have pics of inside the trailer.
Being owned by AOL/Time Warner certainly has its perks. I'm excited to read your coverage, and thanks for the stealth recon mission.
Judging by the first pic, it looks like engadget is breaking away from the blogosphere and expanding into the world - a really good thing.
All I have to say is - Congrats.
Have fun there, bring us some booth-babe pics.
Awesome. Looking forward to your coverage. As Dvorak likes to say, it's better than being there!
what? you have a dick the size of usb 2.0?
I bet it's just a press trailer with an Engadget sponsor sign along the side. Inside you'll find geeks with laptops, blogging away. Not a woman to be found.
Prove me wrong....
Well, I'll be there!
Yeah, I'll pop in from time to time as well! I can't pass up seeing them crammed like sardines in that thing!
I'm heading out on Thursday with my fancy CES badge, hope to see you guys and that insane trailer there.
Guys, its a shop'd image.......you seriously think someone would own something so gawdy? LOL
Is that where my money is going? Engadget mobile homes? I'm paying too much for this site.
I'm so jealous. I want so badly to go to a CES in my lifetime. Or just go to Vegas for work and not have to skip the convention to have fun
I've done both, a couple times at least, and let me say...you're only missing the sporadic run-in's with the girls from the Adult convention. CES is way to f'n HUGE to enjoy, it's awfully tiring (for any tech geek). And Vegas, you'll get tired of the sounds of slots after the 3rd trip.
Go to Vegas for Vegas...mixing Vegas with any other purpose besides a bachelor party is just a bad idea.
no his is the size of a proprietary port :)
Engadget as mainstream media, kinda takes some of the "arrr" out of it
Cool motorhome though, roadtrip!
That posh double wide must have some porcelain love, right?
Don't pull a cousin Eddie...
"shitter's full"
lmao j your funny.
ROFL!
Sponsored by Sprint?!
Does anyone from Sprint actually read this site and notice all the bullshit slander posted by the bloggers about their company?
Now start swinging from there nuts
Leaving for Vegas first thing on Wednesday morning...can't wait to see you there! I will have my Aspire One a Canon Digital Rebel camera and a Verizon USB727 3G modem in tow just to read Engadget...would not want to miss anything! Engadget is the greatest and there is nobody better at CES than Engadget!
Good hunting guys!
I live here in Nevada and get to teach in one of these bad boys everyday.
Can I use your wifi?
I just found out that my hotel CHARGES for wifi!
(Read: Never been to Vegas before)
I wanna see inside that trailer for sure
trailer looks awesome.... now to find a way in :)
Interesting, Panasonic hasn't moved since NAB 2008. They haven't even bothered to change their furniture.
Hot diggety!
I didnt realize Engadget had that much money. Kudos.
A double wide huh? Compensating for something? Maybe a lack of large gadgets? That's ok, CES will help you out with that I'm sure!
Ahh... that's just the MySpace angle for the trailer.
We all know it's 30 feet long and 3 feet wide. :)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You got Ding Dong Ditched!
