Famicom cart camera provides its own smile-catching technology

BenHeck.com forum member goteking apparently built this camera-in-a-Famicom-cart a little while back, but this is one instance when we're more than happy to catch up a little late, even if we may quite not be able to bring ourselves to gut a cart of our own. As you can likely imagine, this mod mostly depends simply on choosing the right cart-sized camera, and goteking found that a standard Sony Cybershot point-and-shoot fit the bill quite nicely, though there's certainly plenty of other possiblities out there (bonus points for anyone able to make an Game Boy cart camera). Hit up the link below for a few more pics of the camera, plus a glimpse of some of goteking's other projects, including a VAIO DS and a VAIO Eee PC.

Anybody else noticing the lack of high and low ranked comments lately?
It's a sad time for Engadget commenters (well me anyways)
DarkLight @ Jan 5th 2009 7:52PM
No, they just removed the highest and the lowest again...
"Highly" is the new highest, "low" is the new lowest
Ross @ Jan 5th 2009 9:07PM
Gah, boo them, I liked scrolling through a months old article and looking at all the highest ranked comments and accidentally going "YES! that was an epic comment"...**sighs** and going "NO, get your facts right before you post" to all the lowest ranked people.
Good times, good times..
change it back Engadget people/guys/editors/technical monkeys, please :)
PS. i have a feeling this is the 2nd time this comment is going to appear, normally i would just tell you to low rank the first one so people woudln't take much notice of it, but nooooo... you had to take that feature out.. sorry, i'll stop my annoying speels of commenterrankingwithdrawl, whoo for made up diseases.

...He destroyed an authentic Japanese version of Final Fantasy for this mod? That's a crime against gaming-kind.
higeki @ Jan 5th 2009 10:21PM
Those carts are a dime-a-dozen at any used japanese game shop outside of Tokyo.
Alareth @ Jan 5th 2009 7:12PM
You know, I'm sure the internals of something like a Flip MinoHD would fit nicely inside an old Game Boy housing ...
BigD145 @ Jan 5th 2009 9:00PM
Rebranding a console? What is this, cheap Chinese knockoff day?
mattkenny @ Jan 6th 2009 2:24AM
So he got a camera and simply put it inside a plastic case. Am I missing something?
superhobo @ Jan 6th 2009 5:00AM
Yes, mattkenny, you are missing the awesomeness.
