iHome debuts iP1 iPod / iPhone speaker system

iHome certainly isn't starved for iPod docks or speaker systems these days, but it looks like the company just couldn't pass up the opportunity of expanding its line-up at CES, and this new so-called iP1 system looks to be leading the way. At first glance, this one sure seems to hit most of the right marks, with it packing 100W of power, two four-inch woofers, two one-inch tweeters, and Bongiovi Acoustic's proprietary Digital Power Station processor, which iHome says helps make this the most advanced speaker system they've ever developed. You'll also get a standard AUX input to accommodate your other devices, plus an A/V output and, of course, a remote control. Unfortunately, there's no word of a price or release date just yet, but we're guessing iHome won't be holding onto those details for too much longer.

It's a dock...
It's like a stereo from 1991 with the AUX replaced with something proprietary.
Looks like mickey mouse
Um... not so much really.
...more like a raccoon.
Hey look, another iPod/iPhone dock from a company that starts with "i"...just what we needed...
Err, a rebadged iPod hifi?
Nope. Apple HiFi was only one woofer and two midweeters. Also, nowhere near 100W.
iPuke
Looks like Wall-E's head
I actually like it.
I want to poke myself in the "i" with a pencil!
Define cheaper. Cuz most of the mp3 players that are better than the ipod classic are at the most 150. If by cheap, you mean drugstore cheap, then I'd kind of agree with you. They can handle them, it would just be pointless because you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
i want one. wonder if it will be reasonably priced?
I've been looking for something to replace my bose with, looks cool.
based on the up and down comments here, I'd say this product is a design winner. apathy will kill a product dead. reactions signal a special something. we'll have to wait for the listening-based reviews. looks are always bound to be in the eye of the beholder. unless we're talking pontiac aztek.
i got to hear the Bongiovi Acoustics technology in one of the JVC car stereos they put it in, and it's absolutely incredible, never heard anything like it in my life. the car stereo is pretty expensive, i hope this thing is priced reasonably.
