Logitech introduces G-series peripherals for gamers who need lots of buttons
Flush with the success of its G13 gameboard, Logitech is now creating a whole series of peripherals that will all work together to celebrate the seventh letter of the alphabet. The G-series line includes a new $199 G19 keyboard, offering a 320 x 240 color LCD mounted on top and 12 "G-keys" that can have up to three macros assigned to each. Next up is the $129 G35, a 7.1 surround-sound headset with integrated "voice-morphing" options for those who'd rather sound like a space squirrel than domestic gamer. Finally, there's a new flavor of the G9 mouse, dubbed the G9x, which loses the photo-overlay in favor of a maximum DPI of 5000 -- that's a whole 1800 more than before! Those extra dots will set you back $99 when the G9x releases in April, while the keyboard and headset should come about a month earlier.

Awesome!!! now I can set all my macros for cake mania!!!
Neofatalist @ Jan 6th 2009 11:41AM
Now you can set Macros for your Macros
Jacob @ Jan 6th 2009 11:46AM
I want a macro that makes new macros
Schnapple @ Jan 6th 2009 11:48AM
Yo dawg we heard you like macro keys so we put some macro keys on your macro keys so you can use your macros while you're using your macros.
(no I don't know where that meme came from either)

why not just work for logitech?

gonintendo @ Jan 6th 2009 11:25AM
Wow, wouldn't 5000 be unusable in most games? I hardly go above 1500 on my G5.
Pretty soon it'll be over 9000!
Arkenklo @ Jan 6th 2009 11:57AM
That really isn't funny. I should'nt be laughing.
Godfail @ Jan 6th 2009 12:05PM
Crank up the DPI and lower the sensitivity, it gives you more accuracy and is still controllable. That's the point of it anyway, though I think the whole DPI thing is really a waste of time.
decapitor @ Jan 6th 2009 12:08PM
Yes the 3200dpi on my G9 is already laughably high.
gonintendo @ Jan 6th 2009 12:24PM
But, I already do that, and it's sensitive enough unless your using some 19200000000000x10800000000000 display where you would be skipping pixels.
Boarderwoot @ Jan 6th 2009 11:28AM
That thing's a beast! I'd be afraid of using it, it might try to harvest my body for some kind of robotic power source.
AMiSH PiRATE @ Jan 6th 2009 11:33AM
I'm not much of a computer gamer, but that rig sure tempts me.
Adoniteking @ Jan 6th 2009 11:34AM
now thats a great add-on to my command center.
neofatalist @ Jan 6th 2009 11:35AM
Because Simplicity... is for Pussies.
redbellyman @ Jan 6th 2009 11:36AM
That set looks sweet, and I cant wait to get those headphones! WOW They look pimptastic for 129$ 7.1 surround goodness
Wolfticket @ Jan 6th 2009 11:39AM
Wow, I think I may have stumbled upon the anti-me. Hey anti-me!
redbellyman @ Jan 6th 2009 11:41AM
well hello!? I just had a roomate move in, I am going to need awesome headphones to replace my 7.1 Audio system that shakes the apartment... I dont see anything wrong with that?
Wolfticket @ Jan 6th 2009 11:57AM
Hello. Well for a start you only have 2.0 ears.
Anyway, never mind, didn't mean nothin by it :-)
Kamokazi @ Jan 6th 2009 1:42PM
@Wolf
You have 2 ears, not 2.0 ears. If someone drops something behind you, you can tell it is behind you based on echo, how your ear funnels the soundwave to your drums, etc. This may simply have 2-3 drivers in each earphone, which can emulate 7.1 surround sound.
Wolfticket @ Jan 6th 2009 2:14PM
Actually, people mostly use the difference between what they hear in their left and right ears to tell what direction a sound is coming from. If you have some stereo headphones about, see here for a good example of this: http://www.moillusions.com/2007/04/virtual-haircut-audio-illusion-mp3.html
7.1 speakers work because they physically position the different sound sources around you. Having more than 2 discrete channels on headphones is largely pointless, especially if you have a decent quality stereo mix.

To be added on my list when I decide to conquer the world !
NienorGT @ Jan 6th 2009 11:44AM
Thanks Logitech... Yet you still have to fix your damn un-updated G9 Setpoint drivers but you have the time to release a new G9 version before that I get mine fixed...
Ivan @ Jan 6th 2009 11:46AM
Seriously? For my taste that's a little too much.
Yesterday I watched Death Race. This set kind of looks like the big fat armored car :D
Lowest Ranked @ Jan 6th 2009 11:46AM
I believe domestic gamers already sound like space squirrels.
Arkenklo @ Jan 6th 2009 11:58AM
I just realized I need all of those.
Yuri @ Jan 6th 2009 11:59AM
what about the DVORAK layout?
XGM @ Jan 6th 2009 12:18PM
Get the first G15 (blue one), and pop out the keys into a DVORAK layout. And yes I typed this on my G15 swapped into a DVORAK layout.
tupelo @ Jan 6th 2009 12:05PM
If I ever saw someone over the age of 16 playing with this, the only word I'd be able to conjure is "asshole". Really, is this what life has come to? Gamers, get a girlfriend, get out of the house! Sunlight and fresh air won't kill you. And so what if Lord Remulack from the planet of Squab tortures your avatar while you're away, you'll at least have your dignity.
adhrt @ Jan 6th 2009 12:16PM
Hey... Im a gamer, have a wife, and love to be online and playing! AND SHE LETS ME!
Newton @ Jan 6th 2009 12:44PM
Get over yourself tupelo, gaming isn't just for kids anymore.
Deeznuts420 @ Jan 6th 2009 1:04PM
im lord remulack and you know nothing of my work
Rissa @ Jan 6th 2009 1:07PM
Actually, I -am- a wife, and my husband and I both play. I replaced my Nostromo with the G13 last week and I absolutely adore it. Not everyone who plays computer games with skill are no-life basement nerds with no hope of successful relationships. But thanks for playing.
ChuChu @ Jan 6th 2009 1:14PM
So because someone likes gear they are an asshole? You realize what site you are on right now right?
Firesuite @ Jan 6th 2009 12:08PM
I cant even begin to imagine all the driver/bloatware that will come with all that. *shudders*
XGM @ Jan 6th 2009 12:22PM
I have a G5 and G15 and I don't recall any bloatware, as for the drivers there was 2 installers (keyboard and mouse) that included the software to customize the settings and LCD display.
Filipino Cowboy @ Jan 6th 2009 12:09PM
"2.0 ears" :-D
Christian Martin @ Jan 6th 2009 12:09PM
G35?
Makes me want to buy an Infinti.
Mr.Rosas @ Jan 6th 2009 12:13PM
well, i kinda like being home.
and while i do have a girlfriend (well more like some.)
They think that being a nerdy gamer is hot.
so good for me! lmao.
BigQueso @ Jan 6th 2009 12:18PM
If any female saw that thing in your house....... you would be sorely mistaken, if you think youre gonna get some tonight.
George @ Jan 6th 2009 8:12PM
Excuse me, but my extremely hot Brazilian girlfriend just loves my blue G15. AND she plays WoW. Horde, no less.
Get with the times, Grandpa. And I am 33.
Godfail @ Jan 6th 2009 12:30PM
Right, because you need DVORAK to press WASD faster
YpoCaramel @ Jan 6th 2009 12:54PM
Yeah, and maybe another grip other than that fairly useless (if cool) photogrip please, Logitech.
nanobis @ Jan 6th 2009 12:59PM
The only next best possible thing would be to have them all wireless
Horse @ Jan 6th 2009 1:12PM
Wireless works like crap for gaming, unless you like lag...
Agent .25i @ Jan 6th 2009 1:17PM
Wireless in gaming = fail.
Christian Martin @ Jan 6th 2009 2:32PM
Wireless = fail?
Been using a Logitech MX1000 for nearly four years now with no lag. Or fail.
Eric @ Jan 6th 2009 3:34PM
Logitech G7 (wireless) = NO Lag!
Matt @ Jan 6th 2009 1:00PM
Seems you left out the info on the G13 Gameboard as shown in the pic?
