Flush with the success of its
G13 gameboard, Logitech is now creating a whole series of peripherals that will all work together to celebrate the seventh letter of the alphabet. The G-series line includes a new $199 G19 keyboard, offering a 320 x 240 color LCD mounted on top and 12 "G-keys" that can have up to three macros assigned to each. Next up is the $129 G35, a 7.1 surround-sound headset with integrated "voice-morphing" options for those who'd rather sound like a space squirrel than domestic gamer. Finally, there's a new flavor of the
G9 mouse, dubbed the G9x, which loses the photo-overlay in favor of a maximum DPI of 5000 -- that's a whole 1800 more than before! Those extra dots will set you back $99 when the G9x releases in April, while the keyboard and headset should come about a month earlier.
The only next best possible thing would be to have them all wireless
Wireless works like crap for gaming, unless you like lag...
Wireless in gaming = fail.
Wireless = fail?
Been using a Logitech MX1000 for nearly four years now with no lag. Or fail.
Logitech G7 (wireless) = NO Lag!
Seems you left out the info on the G13 Gameboard as shown in the pic?
The link to the two blurbs they've already written not good enough for you or something?
my only grief on this, are the keys .... why doesn't Logitech start using SLIM KEYS for the keyboards like creative ....
the Fatal1ty keyboard feels way more responsive...
indeed
lulz
I like. Form and function together is a good thing. I'm 43 years old and proud to be a gamer, have a wife, two kids (boy 19 years and girl 6 months), and a life. I don't have much time to game nowadays, with the baby and life, but it was another avenue to keep communications and a great friendship open with my son. Wife thinks I'm a "hot geek", which is cool. The family that plays together...has things in common.
I, for one, welcome our new Input Device Overlords. LOGITECH FTW!
Nice... Except that someone should tell Logitech that before releasing a product like this, perhaps they should take a look at what games (if any) are being made for PC these days. It's not 1998 any more. I'm not spending money on something like this so that I can play 1-2 decent (not great, just decent) games that MIGHT come out for PC in a year. Back in the time of Wing Commander and Tie Fighter this could have been useful.
I hope you never played TIE Fighter with a keyboard.
PC market is around 5 or 10 times biggest than the console market, the detail is this market is fragmented and piracy run rampant.
lol... using WASD via Dvorak would be impossible....

Right? And ,AO; just doesn't have the same ring.
@ Christian Martin:
you mean ,AOE wouldnt have the same ring
Why is it that the $80 gameboard (the one on the left with the joystick) the only one I'm interested in, and it's the only one that engadget felt was unnecessary to mention?
Because they've already made two full posts about it?
Try clicking the link.
hrmm... now how do you suppose I figured out both what it was called and how much it costs.
oh yeah, maybe I DID click the link.
Or I could be a psychic being with mental prowess far beyond your mortal ken.
your choice, really.
I use to buy every new razer mouse variation that came out, but after they kept crapping out on me i stopped( copperhead was my last). Now am using my 2 year old Microsoft Comfort optical mouse 1000 which cost me 20$ and my 1st gen saitek light up keyboard witch new cost me 60 $ new. I regret ever falling for this gamer perephenalia. You have enough buttons on a regular keyboard for macros unless its a much more button intensive game, but this is mainly aimed towards the fps gamer. Please don't buy this crap, get yourself an old ibm keyboard, a nice pair of sennheiser headphones, an optical mouse that feels comfortable, and buy a 15$ headset and put it around your neck with the microphone aiming at your mouth. You'll be happy and so will your wallet. If you suck at games, " gamer" gear wont fix that problem.
Meanwhile logitech is looking into firing some people because of the economic crisis, yet they make a simple thing like a keyboard or mouse 200/100 bucks, yeah I wonder what the problem is with their company..
If these were the only products they sold you might have a point.
Every new product they release is more expensive than the previous one, if this continues only gates and nations and saudi sheiks can purchase logitech devices by 2011, it's their choice though.
I seriously hope "Space Squirrel" is a real setting for this...
Wireless mouse is too heavy
This is some serious ricer shit.
