JVC lays out 2009 line of Everio camcorders at CES
JVC's busting out a veritable plethora of camcorders today, with three in particular catching our eyes. The 60GB GZ-HD300, 120GB GZ-HD320 and the dual SD slot-packin' GZ-HM200 all record in Full HD and feature a 3.05 megapixel CMOS image sensor. If you're into the SD gig, it has five other models within the Everio G series and Everio S series, and the whole family will include a One Touch Export function that enables videos to be imported into iTunes and loaded directly onto an iPod / iPhone. Expect 'em all to be available by March at the latest for between $299.95 and $799.95.

do you like JVC Camcorders? I like this one, sounds good on paper. And this is why i choose JVC over Cannons design

i just bought a Samsung MX20. it has only a SD card slot. i'm not interested in the built in hard drive cameras. they seem to be way more bulkier. anyways, if the JVC GZ-HM200 is HD and is priced at 300.00, i might have to invest in that.
but i doubt it is in HD since i can't seem to find a decent HD camera for under 500.00

Great to get the camcorder coverage, but one thing Engadget persistently leaves, and which matters a lot, is the sensor size - 1/3", 1/2" or whatever. Another thing that matters a lot is the frame rate - 60i or 30p is great for home video buffs, but wannabe filmmakers lust after 24, while those in PAL land like 25p.
CES is busy and it's hard to pick up all the details, but these things matter quite a bit. Otherwise it's a bit like reading 'the new Yamaha motorcycle has 4 wheels and a 4-cylinder engine!', with no clear idea of engine capacity.

Yeah, I hit the read link and they have spec charts and prices for each model. But you may want to stop reading when you see "All JVC HD Everios feature a 1/4.1-inch 3.05 megapixel CMOS image sensor."

24p? 'Twould look cinematic as well as save plenty of space...
