JVC's 42-inch LT-42B300 LCD HDTV includes built-in Blu-ray player
So we heard that Sharp would be bringing a few Blu-ray-infused HDTVs to CES, but it's JVC breaking one out first. Here in Vegas, the company has introduced the 42-inch LT-42B300, which packs a 1080p panel, integrated ATSC-QAM tuner, a 5-band equalizer, dual 10-watt speakers, three HDMI inputs (with CEC) and an inbuilt Blu-ray player to boot. It'll be ready for consumption this June at an undisclosed price.

Can I say "Drool"?
Oh My God, I can say "Drool"!!!!
Also, that TV sounds awesome.
Can you also say ...
"Which profile will the TV support?"
"Will it have 1GB of onboard memory or will it need a stick jutting out of a slot?"
"Will it have an ethernet jack for player updates and BD-Live content?"
Standalone Blu-ray players have enough hassles. Sticking one in a TV just has trouble written all over it.
What do you mean? You can't just stick a Blu-ray in and play it?
Sure you can. Unless it's a disc that uses the latest java features and the built-in player and firmware can't handle it.
The BD-Live extras and Bonus View content on the disc? Well, that's another story.

Not always... it's still early days for the blu-ray format and the specification changes regularly... something PS3 owners don't need to worry about due to the frequent firmware updates.
Tis year of the Blu-ray. This year I think it's really going to pick up some steam. About time too!
oh gawd. it's already obsolete before it hits the shelves.
