Samsung ships DisplayLink-equipped SyncMaster 2243QW
Samsung's been shipping DisplayLink-equipped displays in its UbiSync line for months now, and now it's got one more headed to consumers. The 22-inch 2243QW comes with a 1,680 x 1,050 native resolution, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, 5-millisecond response time, a built-in USB hub and VGA / DVI inputs. 'Course, the signal gets sent over USB, but it's your best guess as to what it'll run. Er, is running, considering that it's shipping now to the US and Europe.

Does DisplayPort have any Advantages over DisplayLink other than bandwidth? And does DisplayLink need to be updated with USB3.0 rolls out to consumer PCs?

DisplayPort port is like HDMI. Without the royalty fees. I encourage you to check out Wikipedia on it for all the small details over HDMI. It's target is a plug for Home system and PC (replacing DVI).
As for USB, from what I saw. It's nothing spectacular. See it as "I need a second screen desperately but I don't have a video card with 2 DVI's, and don't know how to upgrade of have the money to upgrade the video card". Image quality is not near DVI (but I only saw 1 setup, so I don't know if it's the monitor that was bad, or something else), and again comes down to... can it do gaming? Let alone render HD movie content super smoothly as the video card would normally do.

What I would like to know is when are my Ubisync devices going to support 3D acceleration, clone mode, etc (like a normal monitor). I got an SPF-75H on Boxing Day, but to my surprise, its uses are pretty limited.
