Windows 7 beta 64-bit version leaked just in time for Steve Ballmer's keynote

It looks like the usual suspects are at it again, showing their baldfaced contempt for copyright law by disseminating a 64-bit version of the Windows 7 beta. When we saw the 32-bit version a couple weeks ago things looked pretty good, outperforming Vista and XP in "real world" tasks, so we're hoping that its older brother performs on the same level. There's a strong possibility that the public beta will be announced at tonight's keynote, and if it is Engadget will be on hand to dish out all the gory details.

Which one is "newer" (higher subversion i guess). Does the new 64 version got problems with that mp3 as well
Oh i read the comments - you meant by "older brother" the "big brother" not older version, so probably this one is "newer" - actually they are both 7000 version if i see it right

that's a chop ...
In terms of fragmented drives and such, I've had my laptop running windows for over a year and it only has a 3% fragmentation in 60gb of files on a 80gb HDD.
That's not bad at all :)
Was running vista now running Seven.
Does anyone know if we do install the beta(public or no) will we be able to upgrade to the release build when it is released... or will we have to do a full install again? I currently have an MSDN subscription(which I cant find Windows 7 beta on yet) but when it is released, we will have access to the released build... does this just keep updating via windows update or again will there be problems updating?
I imagine it won't auto update but when you get the real version doing an install it will have an upgrade option so you won't loose settings etc.
Everything in Windows 7 runs perfectly except it doesn't support GameGaurd.
Hey Microsoft..... encourage computer makers to pre-install Windows 64bit on 64bit computers instead of 32bit OS! 80% of new computers are 64bit but only a small percentage come with 64bit OS.
hello i was wondering about what u said. How do i find out if i can run a 64bit os like where do i go to find out. it says 32bit operating system i have a 32 one does that mean my laptop can run only 32 bit or also jsut means i am using a 32bit one but my laptop can also ran a 64bit?
