As if a partnership with
Rand McNally wasn't enough,
Navigon's giving prospective buyers even more reason to hand over a pinch of their savings. Starting this Spring, Navigon GPS owners will be able to download several new content decks for their devices, including Red Light Camera data, a North American expansion pack, a European map, 3D landmarks and extended POIs. All of the new material will be hosted on the company's Fresh platform, and pricing ranges from $19.99 for each Rand McNally guide to $129.99 for European maps on North American PNDs. Hit up the read link for specifics on each.

Read link missing?
Very interested in this topic...picked up the brand new Navigon 8100T late last year. The 3-D landmarks were included on the European 8110 http://www.navigon8110.com/uk/index_flash.php (nicely done website!), so it is nice to see I can add them to the USA 8100T. European version includes more features than the USA version for a similar price, but it has been out for over 10 months.

How do you like your 8100T so far? I was almost going to buy a Navigon (because of the bang/buck ratio) but ended up looking at a Garmin nuvi and finally looked at my wallet and decided to keep the money.

Where is this fabled read link?

Yes - it's just a shame you can't switch the b*stard things off - the battery is flat every time I go to use it!

Hold down the sleep button for a few seconds and it'll turn off. At least my 2100 works that way.

I thought so too, but this leaves internal circuits active that continue to track satellites etc. for a fast power-up. I contacted Navigon about this, and they confirmed my 2110max cannot be fully switched off:

thank you for contacting Navigon Support Team .
Unfortunately , the 2110max can not be switched off completely.
Yours sincerely

When the warranty runs out, I'll be installing my own power switch!

I believe you hold the sleep/power button down for either 8 or 10 seconds (can't remember which) to completely turn off.
Options >> Settings >> Basic Settings >> Menu Animations OFF (page 4 of 7 on my 7100)
This will solve some of the lag issues reviewers complain about on most Navigon models.
