While wandering Palm's lounge of poor lighting and heavy shadow, we bumped into the retail packaging for the Pre. While not likely the final design, it certainly follows Palm's recent packaging aesthetic.
Yeah, the difference between my Mogul box and my Touch Pro box is like night and day.... the Mogul box is solid yellow and full of all kinds of crappy graphics and floating heads. The Treo Pro box, on the other hand, is all black, very minimal graphics - just the Touch Pro with the yellow neon swoosh floating around it. It's nice.

The final design will probably have tons of ugly yellow all over it just so everyone knows that its Sprint.
Older sprint smart phones are like that but most of the new ones are mostly black with minimal writing and hardly any yellow and look quite nice.

When did a box last change a life? This is pitiful when idiots find a box news-worthy,
lol quite true. The qwerty keypad is a bit on the ugly side which is what I would rather focus on.
