Logitech's G9x gaming mouse reviewed, deemed worth a look
We already had a little hands-on time with Logitech's G9x, but TechRadar was able to spend a copious amount of time with it. So much time, in fact, that it wrote up a review explaining the pros and cons of owning one. The gist of it was that the G9x didn't really mess with the original formula of the G9, and the 5,000DPI sensor was stellar under pressure. The scroll wheel and buttons were also found to be solid, and the accompanying software was also satisfactory. All in all, the G9x didn't seem to really shock and awe, but if you're currently in the market for a gaming mouse, this one should supposedly make it onto your "shortlist of candidates."

this one should supposedly make it onto your "shortlist of candidates." Wow, highly ecommended.

I have g5 v2 and I always wanted to try out g9. I wonder if it fits hand nicely and feels as nice as mx series. (500/510/518/g5 etc)
Anyone compared these two in a game/daily work?

I have the G7 (basically the wireless equivalent of the G5). I got a short demo with the G9 a while back expecting to hate it, but was pretty damned impressed with it actually. Feels good and sturdy, ergonomic, and I loved the smooth scroll.

I had a MX Revolutions which i got rid of due to wireless lag issues (Loved that mouse though).
I have a G9 now and i have to say its a fantastic mouse, the on board memory allows you to set your settings ONCE, and never change them, across any computer, and the set point is better than the one for non G9 mice.
It has less buttons, but I have been fine, I miss the freescroll sometimes, but overall the G9 is well worth it!

I have a G5, G9, and Revolution. I love all three and I wish for some amalgamation of the three into one mouse. Of course replace the G9 with the G9x as the x now has the better DPI laser engine than the original G9. I would take either the G5 or Revolution shape I prefer the Revolution when it came to overall comfort, but I didn't lose any sleep when I replaced it with the G5. The scroll wheel on the G9 or G9x I would assume are the same, is superior to the G5 and Revolution. Although similar the G9 can go from free spin to click spin manually so switching is better than the Revolution scroll wheel, the G5 scroll wheel sucked in comparison to the either the Revo or G9.
Why I would rather have the G5 shape? In v2 of the G5 it had both a back and a forward button which are larger than the Revo's and it was a larger mouse which fit better in my palm.
Why I would rather have the Revo shape? It fits more comfortably in my hand.
The G9 doesn't have that curve like a baseball that the other two have my hand frequently falls asleep on the right side if I have long gaming sessions. The G9's weights can't be modified without removing the grip and the grip material on the wide grip started peeling on mine.
Perfect Mouse
Revolution Shape
G5 back and forward buttons, weight system, special grip material, and wrapped nylon cord.
G9x 5000DPi laser engine, scroll wheel, LED system, and internal memory with profile support.
I would accept combining of the G5 and G9 as long as they kept it wired. Wireless mice just aren't responsive enough.

So basically this is a G9 at 5000 DPI, no other changes? What I'm most curious about is how long this mouse is going to be out. Is it a short holdover until a new design or is this getting the full mouse lifecycle? I need a new mouse and was waiting to see Logitech's new take on the mouse, but if this is it I might as well just grab a G9 (not x) when the price drops (it will do that right?).

Logitech G9 is seriously flawed imo, because the sensor is not located at the center , this will impaired accuracy greatly , not suitable for claw and finger grip users , might not even be suitable for palm grip user , since ppl dont tend to palm their mouse totally , some utilize their palm + wrist to move the cursor.
That goes for G7 , G5 and any other mouse where the sensor is not center. This is clearly noticeble when u rotate ur mouse to the right , then back to center and then rotate to the left , u will notice that from an angle of 0 to 90 or 180 , ur physical movement is almost constant ( covers the same distance on the mousepad) , but on screen ( monitor ) rotation , right is under rotated , left side is over rotated , if thats the word .
The mouse is seriously flawed.

looking at my other logitech mice..mx1000/700 the sensors always off center. works fine

I have the original G9 and the hand grip with the thumb rest (left in picture) is pretty crappy. The mold is nice but the overcoat material is peeling and it looks like a sunburn. Probably doesn't help that I play WoW too much. We gamers need durability! Other than that the original G9 is solid.

Are you kidding me? Do you seriously think that because its not exactly in the center that is going to effect movement? You win noob of the week award. I'm just in total awe in what you just said, you can't really be that stupid. Do you use your mouse the way you just described? Then why in the hell would you say such a nonsense?!?! Do use a favor and post your comment on a highly populated forum for reviews and lets see how bad you get laughed at. I want everyone else to get a good laugh at your expense.
YOU ARE SERIOUSLY FLAWED!
