OWC tempts with 4-bay Mercury Rack Pro RAID solution
If OWC's latest and greatest external RAID drives are just too, um, unmountable for your tastes, how's about this? The 4-bay Mercury Rack Pro features the increasingly familiar quad interface (USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and eSATA) and supports up to four 2TB 3.5-inch SATA I / II hard drives, up to 128MB total data buffer, a variety of RAID options and ultra-quiet operation. Those looking to fill that one last 1U slot with oodles of storage room can buy in now for anywhere between $899.99 (2TB) and $1,499.99 (4TB).

Hate to say it, but this looks awfully like a previous Apple product.
Hate to say it, and I'm not racist or anything, but rack-mounts really do kind of all look alike.
This is sexier than an Apple product. Being that it's not an Apple product and looks nicely designed. I'd love one to hook up to my WHS over eSATA.
As it looks almost exactly like an Apple Xserve G4 (http://solutionx.com.au/applecomputers/xserve/xserve.jpg) you fail at internets. And also at basic 'lookin' shit up on google'. Were you just that hard up for taking a swing at Apple?
OfficeDespot you're just jealous to apple's sexy design...you should be happy that there is a company like apple who forces other companies to build nice stuff and not continue the cheap and ugly grey/black/blue pastic stuff you're using at home...
Blatant copy of a 5 year old apple x-serve... what a shame they couldn't come up with their own design!
wonder if this will get removed as spam.
they should just sell the rack, these companies jack up the prices when they throw in the HDD's. I could buy 4TB from new egg at about 300. i mean 1.5TB is going for 100 now
ok just looked that up and its like 130 for a 1.5TB, but still alot cheaper
Look on their site under Hard Drives -> External enclosures. You can buy the same rack enclosure without drives.
Why no love for SAS? :(
This posting of MacPower [ http://www.macpower.com.tw/ ]...er I mean, OWC products is getting out of hand. It is a lot of overpriced, chinese crap.
For anyone looking for decent external drive solutions, OWC is excellent. They always score at the top of external drive speed comparisons among consumer/prosumer level solutions.. Check out the most recent MacWorld where they did one such test of a dozen different external drives.. I'm sure this new product is just as good.
