Palm Pre's "New-ness" event video now viewable
Sure, you might've enjoyed the highs and lows (mostly highs) of Palm's Pre presser through the magic of written language in our liveblog of the event, but there's something about watching it unveiled in person by utterly enthused execs that can only be conveyed by video. Palm's got its own video of the event now live on its site, so grab your favorite Saturday hangover cure, pull up a recliner and start soaking up Palm's own special brand of RDF.
Update: We've got the video embedded after the break.

"Stay-tus" What happened to status?
Noooo!!! I watched almost all that video, got really excited, pulled out my credit card, saw my contract ended in march, was ready to buy one... then i saw that it was for sprint.
There is no hope for getting a good smart phone on verizon
Watched the whole vid.
Live demo was insightful. Some good thought was given to WebOS. Would be good to see it in more devices than just a slider, which I've never liked as a form-factor (but sensible compromise given the screen size). Very iPhone-inspired while managing to go further (tactile keys, good attention paid to user needs in GUI as opposed to re-hashing the usual GUI approaches), and that removable battery is a sane touch. I smiled when it was mentioned. Well done.
Wishes would be no (or very little) onboard storage, with the bulk being microSD and a regular, smaller-screen device with bar form-factor plus qwerty (an 'unslider') in addition to this one.
All in all, looks like a pretty usable device. Compromises, I'm sure, will be revealed as the thing starts selling, but I like what I see.
Today we spell redemption P-A-L-M.

Personally, I've never been a Palm OS fan, always liked WinMo better. WinMo is old school, so I've been dying for a new OS without having to switch carriers (still on the SERO plan). My contract with Sprint has been over for a while now, but I've been waiting for them to come out with an Android phone. This seems to be exactly what I've been waiting for though. Hopefully the price is right!
If their contact syncing works with google apps then they got me.
