Awesomegadget CES: Dragon Fire Breather
The commotion in the room when we found out the eyes light up was seriously louder than for the Pre announcement.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
"It's so cool! Mommy, mommy, can I get it?"
More than a control pad.. a legend!
now i can play NiGHTS properly.
lmao featured
"Do not put them in the concourses of warm, wet, and strong light."
Isn't wet light a brand of condom?
"support hot inserting and drawing, once insert it, use it."
O.O
do it
Are we talking about Gremlins here?
Looks like the original S controller for the Xbox rebranded with some of that additional dragon fluff
You mean rebranded with some added awesome!
how many blurry pictures of that thing do you need?
umm, more?
Picture 7 is just, well, DIIIIIRRRRTY...
Yes. Pic 7 is describing the part "more excited in the game"
Hmm 29 pictures, someone at Engadget likes this.
i don't know why i laughed at this comment;
but it wouldn't be hard to believe.
so it doesnt ACTUALLY breathe fire?
:'(
no. but if you bothered to read that anectode on the packaging, it will pretty much enslave us all.. sigh; sounds like an ipod...
damn someone used a really bad translator on those instructions
company' sproduct
By the way, I like your name.
good thing 'awesome' is a universal language :)
The manual is hilarious. XD
Dr. Ashen should review this.
WTF
You can buy it on DealExtreme. SKU number 4998.
$27.38. lol I first saw this while browsing DealExtreme a few months back.
WHY?!
I WANNA!
That looks almost too awesome..
Although it doesn't look like its made for xbox 360 (black and white buttons, no bumpers) isn't it a little too late to come out with this people?
its still awesome though...
I'm going to go with no
It looks like a 360 controller.
"Disconnect the product USB prick, insert USB portal into your computer USB portal"
what is a USB prick?
Someone who makes fun of Firewire.
LMAO!!! I automatically thought of my girlfriends mom
Stop calling me a prick!
Kinda Chunky:
is her name Stacy?
Man... I cant buy this because I'm constantly surrounded by concourses of warm, wet and strong light...
rofl.
WooowWW!! Really Cool Toy ! I wanaa!!

Seriously I'd like to know if it's actually usable.
Yea.. um.. this is ooooold hat. It's been at dealextreme for over a year
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4998
Please try to bring us "NEWs" engadget
You should have submitted the link to engadget a year a ago so I could have known it earlier. :-)
This is a blog! They dont always have to post news, jeez!
Better now than never. This made my night
Ya I guess I cna't blame engadget. Tho to show up at this years CES with last years product... thats a sign that the company has only one trick up their sleeves. Prepare for more dragon stuff :P
"Do not make liquid and other different things into the products."
That was the dealbreaker for me.
same here, i constantly make liquid into the products
This would be more impressive if it actually could breathe fire. That'd make for some fiery gaming. This would also be a great idea for a lighter.
Who doesn't want a USB powered dragon?
"Do not make liquid and other different things into the products."
Guess the folks at "will it blend" will not be buying this!
I like that I had to read a horribly translated and spelled manual to learn what "mucilaginous" and "larruping" mean. But I'm a little leery of a bellowing picture.
LOL at picture #7! It looks like the dragon is screaming with pleasure, and the thumb sticks look like two erect nipples, lol!!... Am I allowed to say that here?
ROFL I'm glad I wasn't the only one!
For a moment I thought I was weird...
And why does the tail detach from the controller?
That explanation is most deffinitely not allowed here (yeah, like I actually have some authority to say that)! Just stick with flicking the nubs. Errr.
Gripping the sticks? Umm. Handling the new goods? Playing with your new toy? Pushing the right buttons? Manipulating the hardware? Unwrapping your present? Plugging and using it? Experiencing the "super strong dual vibration funtion" (I think we found the purpose of the tail)? Damnit why does everything sound naughty after this post!?!?!?!?
As an aside... there looks to be enough room for a small butane cartridge (within the body of the controller) from a butane lighter, as well as enough room for the electric igniter (near the exit valve in the mouth) from said lighter. All you have to do is keep the paint from melting.
Are you sure this wasnt meant for crapgadget?
"The commotion in the room when we found out the eyes light up was seriously louder than for the Pre announcement."
It's so bad it's amazing.
I'm guessing you can't play Doom with that...
My roommate and I are seriously in tears after reading the instruction manual with a chinese accent... ONCE PLUG IN, USE IT! lol
ALRIGHT, I'll buy an XBox already!
Those are some perky-ass joysticks in the 7th picture.
ok...So can you use this with the Xbox 360????
If so, I'm buying one...
Its GodZilla!!
This thread made me laugh so freakin hard! Thank you, makers of cheesy dragon controller product.
This controller (if made for PS3) would have been perfect for Lair. Fire breathing P.O.S. controller meets fire breathing P.O.S. game. Buy both and get laughed at for life!
The two pinna wobble fluctuate!
Question on everyone's mind is:
Is it XBOX360 compatible?
ok ok ok , good design fire your weapons by pressing the red balls of the dragon... O.o
This controller was originally designed by a company called "Gemini" for the original xbox as part of a "game elements"/freaky controllers. Gemini were later bought by Philips (they did mostly communication/network products), so the series was not continued. (they also had a Ninja and Samorai controllers for the PS2, and a few more).
read about it here : http://www.beststuff.com/videogames/freaks-game-controllers-unleashed.html
Seems like they just converted it to PC.
I am surprised no one here remembered this. What kind of geeks are you people ?
I'm proud to say I have one. I bought it for 0.99$ on ebay a few years ago.
