I'd say the Samsung NC10 and the HP Mini 2140 are the best on the market at the moment, possibly include the Eee S101 if you like the slim/shiny factor. If I was buying now, the HP would win easily - the high-res screen is a lot more versatile, and from what I've seen it's a very well designed unit overall.
second the MSI Wind
Just installed windows 7 on mine and it is running great
also the "touch-typeable" keyboard is a must have
woops, apparently I dont know how to reply, this is for the comment below
I agree that HP 2140 looks very promising, but it's not out yet (or at least can't be ordered from the web site yet). So it's either Samsung NC10 or MSI Wind for me. I hear Wind's wireless card is weak, though.
MSI Wind.
Matte screen on a netbook is a must. Plus it runs OSX almost natively. Great device get it and enjoy.
I have the samsung NC10 and love it.
NC10. Excellent battery life, large hard drive, definitely the best keyboard possible. I own it and love it.
I got my NC10 a few days ago: that battery is not just big. It never runs out! I did a triple boot win xp, win 7 and ubuntu. If I had to choose now I would keep win 7. Smooth. I'm using office mostly every day on it. Love it.
I agree with the Samsung NC10. Great keyboard layout, excellent battery life, weight is right.
Current HP 1000 models lack seriously in specs.. you may like your 8.9" model, but move to a 10" and you'll know what's better...
If price is your top priority, the MSI Wind has the best bang for the buck.
I'm looking to buy the samsung NC10 right now but I have to ask how stylish is it? I know it has great build quality but how are the looks?
