Why is this under crapgadget? This is awesome, I need one!
tuaamin13 @ Jan 12th 2009 7:19AM
Agreed. This is not crap. Slate this under Awesomegadget
stefan @ Jan 12th 2009 7:20AM
like, totally!
and since it's not IR it can be blindly steered towards the kitchen so the missus can fill it up.
matthewlikestoburn @ Jan 12th 2009 7:21AM
everyone needs one! i heard you can get an rc hovercraft that takes them to you from the fridge
bahgger @ Jan 12th 2009 7:30AM
If the missus can fill it up, the missus can also bring a bucket on her own. This, or the missus, has got to go!
biohazard @ Jan 12th 2009 7:41AM
i would say there are some things the RC cooler can't do... or can it?
Esat Dedezade @ Jan 12th 2009 7:44AM
Or ... BOTTLE it?
I'll let myself out...
Tarnation @ Jan 12th 2009 8:38AM
< want > This is not teh crapgadget. Awesome < / want >
Rocketboy @ Jan 12th 2009 9:48AM
This only needs 2 things. Roomba attachment, and a pool attachment. Then my life would be complete.
Knee to the Groin @ Jan 12th 2009 10:27AM
Till the cops try to give you a DUI...
Doh! @ Jan 12th 2009 1:20PM
Yes, very awesome!
SC20 @ Jan 15th 2009 6:31AM
"R2! Another beer and make is snappy! The wookie is getting pissed!"
SOOPERGOOMAN @ Jan 12th 2009 7:34AM
Wow I'm slightly under impressed that you decided to call this a crapgadget. My roommate has one of these and it is perfect for sitting around being LAZY. No more up to the fridge, back to the chair up to the fridge for me. If you had one you would see.
Matt @ Jan 12th 2009 12:51PM
Yeah this looks totally awesome. They've got a great web site too, with clips of it being featured on the Tonight Show! http://www.rccooler.com
Salid @ Jan 12th 2009 7:36AM
Okay, where can I buy this one? Seriously!
biohazard @ Jan 12th 2009 7:41AM

Jim Tobin @ Jan 12th 2009 10:47AM
I got one of these for Christmas. Haven't used it yet, but it made me laugh.
Purchased from Hammacher-Schlemer (sp?)

Smoke weed and fly!
The Number 1 Cubs Fan @ Jan 12th 2009 7:39AM
I thought this was to keep your remotes cool.
InTheCatBoxAgain @ Jan 12th 2009 9:45AM
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought this.
G @ Jan 12th 2009 10:15AM
me too
Ro @ Jan 13th 2009 3:20AM
It certainly sounded that way.
Jash Sayani @ Jan 12th 2009 7:39AM
Thanks Engadget!! I was just lookin g for a tech product that makes people lethargic. This is it !
bandigolo @ Jan 12th 2009 12:13PM
Is your avatar actually a picture of yourself?
SOOPERGOOMAN @ Jan 12th 2009 3:13PM
Mine is.
Jash Sayani @ Jan 13th 2009 7:40AM
@Bandigolo
Yes. Why?
biohazard @ Jan 12th 2009 7:40AM
one less reason to ever leave the bed!
ack154 @ Jan 12th 2009 7:51AM
Unless you have someone else who just happens to be in the kitchen, and is nice enough to refill it for you... you might as well just use a regular cooler anyway and let it sit next to you. Or just get a mini-fridge for your TV room and make it your side table.
You're going to have to initially fill it anyway, not to mention when it runs out... then what? You can't exactly drive it down to the corner with a $20 and hope the clerk will refill for you.
David @ Jan 12th 2009 7:55AM
ack154 you are missing the point, you put 12 beers in it and then you can drive it around to people. Of course if you're drinking alone you'd have no use for this. I think it'd be great for parties to drive around a nice chilled bottle of vodka. Later when all the drinks are gone you can use it as a moving target to throw the caps into! Wo0o
biohazard @ Jan 12th 2009 7:56AM
i don't know about that... i know the corner shop guy quite well, and it's only about 10 metres away from my room!
also, why would you want a mini-fridge in the tv room? i got everything i need in my own room except space for a mini-fridge and food or beverages. i totally need this! :)
wish it could get up the stairs though :(
AMiSH PiRATE @ Jan 12th 2009 9:06AM
remote controlled? p'shaw. Incorporate some roomba auto-pilot technology and a mechanical arm to load itself up, then we'll talk.
SOOPERGOOMAN @ Jan 12th 2009 3:15PM
Don't forget to be able to control it with a wiimote and glovePie scripter.
KilgoreTrout @ Jan 12th 2009 9:12AM
Eheheh great ad.
I totally agree: this is not crapgadget at all , this is fabgadget, it can be used not only for drinks, also for **********.
Moreover it can be easily modded with webcams, touch screen, DTV-B receiver, anything really.
If I could take a look at it tridimensionally I would most probably buy it.
Definitely.
Magallanes @ Jan 12th 2009 9:13AM
To keep cold the beer is a serious business.
Tony @ Jan 12th 2009 9:44AM
Great Idea. Low Technology but Good Business idea.
Think about their cost, I think it very low cost. Low cost that can sell at high price. What's a great Idea!!!
SlickD @ Jan 12th 2009 11:07AM
OMG! I totally need one of these in my living room!!! In for 1!!
korngames @ Jan 12th 2009 11:36AM
Nice idea but I've got a better one:
Make a radio controlled moving version of the Asahi beer pouring robot, and then you'll get $xxxxxxxxxx from me.
Even better:
Someone get me an Asahi robot, and I'll build the damn thing by myself.
thekanester @ Jan 12th 2009 11:48AM
Man,I'm such a fool, when I first read the headline, I thought it was a cooler for your remote controls...
I was thinking? I'm not aware of any of my remote controls getting particularly warm to the touch...not even the Harmony.
D'oh!
onebadtubesock @ Jan 12th 2009 12:22PM
My sister bought me this for christmas. It really works and is incredibly hilarious. All of my friends love it and we have already used it for tailgating. If anything, it's good for a great laugh.
maddog39 @ Jan 12th 2009 2:33PM
I like this idea best idea so far lol and would totally buy this but i would need more then one of them to hold all my beer for when i watch hockey
ZeitgeistXIII @ Jan 12th 2009 2:48PM
Its Canadian made or imported at least. go figure I thought we had long winters in MN for drinking but thats soooooo cool. lol Now we need a floatign version for pool deliveries.
SOOPERGOOMAN @ Jan 12th 2009 3:18PM
Winter in MN? what do you folk get? two feet total accumulation for the year. Try where I am in Canada(farthest east) and we get that in one hour and a total of 6-8 FEET for the season.
Winter in Minnesota, that made me laugh almost as hard as the Joshua and Jimmy Fallon video.
Nadool @ Jan 12th 2009 11:26PM
Alcohol aside, this would make a kickass remote controlled gravity bong!
Probably just forget what you did with the remote though :/
Or get the munchies and eat said remote! And then still forget what happened to it -.-;;
Ro @ Jan 13th 2009 3:21AM
This is obviously stage 1 in what will eventually evolve into the R2 unit. It makes so much more sense to fill with beers rather than Kenny Bakers.
dano @ Jan 15th 2009 12:16AM
Pardon the assumption.... but this invention cannot FILL itself or retrieve more beer from the fridge, right? So it basically serves the same purpose as a regular cooler ($10) that YOU fill and set next to the couch or the pool or beach chair? Is it that important so that you dont have to lean over to grab a beer for anyone other than yourself?
Dan @ Jan 15th 2009 1:15AM
I want one.
h8GWB @ Jan 15th 2009 3:18PM
Nice, but the title made me think a remote control that also was a cooler.
Thinks you shoulda used radio control instead of remote control.
