T-Mobile getting HTC Rhodium as the Wing II, Sapphire as the G2?
T-Mobile USA has a pretty solid relationship with HTC, considering it sells the Shadow, the Wing, and the G1 at the moment -- and seeing how the G1's doing a nice little spot of business for them, it stand to reason that they'd be looking to continue the good times through '09. We're hearing from TmoNews that one HTC devices leaked today -- the Sapphire -- is the G2, while another source is telling us that the Rhodium is the Wing II, giving T-Mob solid, high-end Windows Mobile and Android devices alike in the new year. The original Wing is older than your grandmother (bless her heart), and as for the G1... well, let's be honest, these guys can take as much Android gear as HTC will give 'em right now. Bring it, fellas.

If the Rhodium used Android, I would buy it. However, I would never buy the Sapphire because it lacks a physical keyboard; any phone that wants to be a smartphone needs a real keyboard because the virtual one just doesn't cut it. Guess the G1/D1 will remain my best choice for quite a while.
No QWERTY keyboard on the Sapphire. Another indication that T-Mobile *will* release Cupcake for Android/G1 (hopefully very soon).
does it come in black?
It's showing a pic of the Tungsten for TMO/TMUS. Looks just like the Rhodium though...except the base/backside is a little fatter...maybe a bigger battery?
Realllyy hoping T-mobile brings this out by midyear....my MDA is old, don't like the Wing, don't want to go CDMA, and would rather not be on AT&T... ;)
No keyboard.
No 3.5mm jack.
What else is missing?
WE NEED SPECS!
i hate being teased
So is the Rhodium based off of the HTC Touch Pro? Basically would be T-Mobile's version of the AT&T Fuze... It looks similar but with only the one pic, it's hard to tell.
From what I gather though, the Touch Pro is a sweet phone.
No, it's more like the update to the Fuze/Touch Pro/etc.
hmmm... the Saphire looks a bit thick not to have a hardware KB. Regardless, it looks like a direction for the design itself - I think its pretty decent looking compared to the original, which I love to DEATH. I SAID DEATH! (did I say that outloud?).
I would this has a very high res screen, like the HD -that woul be reakishly slutty.
The 'leak' mentioned, if it is to be believed, uses 2 abbreviations for their upcoming T-Mobile devices, TMO & TMUS, which would seem to indicate the TMO are handsets showing up outside the US. There is only one with the TMUS label, not pictured in your post here, it's the one called the Tungsten, captioned with 'TMO, TMUS'.
If you look closely to the G2, it looks like there is a "cut" down the side of the phone. Part of the photos reflections white out some of picture, but you can definitely see it on its J pose(look at the chin). Possibly the whole face slides, chin and all.
THese all look very Good! Phonedog has said the Rhodium looks to have a bigger screen and based on the Proposed HTC Touch HD more than the Touch Pro.
SO thats even BETTER news!
One thing's for sure most people in the Industry agree that their reliable sources agree about these being the official phones coming out.
I can't wait until they hit up T-mobile very soon as they say they will.
Anything that uses either TI OMAP, or Samsung/Marvell CPU, with PowerVR or it's all still regurgitated, sluggish Qualcomm crap still?
The Rhodium looks pretty slick. It looks like the screen size is bigger than the Touch Pro which I currently have. It also looks like from the pictures the screen is more centered to the keyboard which I miss that from the Titan phone. Now lets hope it has wxga resolution. Please Please...HTC no more qvga devices.
Cheers
oh man i really hope that the Rhodium will have Cupcake or the original Android...
My grandmother used to use the Wing to look up Latin translations when she was in high school. Are there any still in use?
Don't you think the "Hero" is more likely to be the G2? Mainly because in the leaked images it says "Android Hero".

It doesn't look like the Saphire has Android-related hardware buttons either.
Probably the Hero will be the first HTC Android not-for-T-Mobile, hence the Android mention.
DAMN IT
I HATE ANDROID NOW
I OWN THE G1
THE ONLY REASON I GOT IT OVER THE IPHONE IS BCUZ OF THE HARDWARE KEYBOARD
AND IM NOT GONNA GET THE RHODIUM CUZ IT DOESNT RUN ANDROID
DAMN TMOBILE
