Game|Shadow dongle turns Blackberry into PS3 remote / keypad

Ok, so it's not quite the convenient solution that a simple Bluetooth-based app would be, but Blackberry owners looking for an alternative to Sony's own PS3 keypad may still want to consider Unify4Life's new Game|Shadow dongle / app bundle, which will turn your phone into a full-featured remote and keypad. The app uses the same interface as Unify4Life's separate AV|Shadow system, which the company is only too happy to remind you can be paired with the Game|Shadow to give you complete control over audio/video setup. Head on past the break for a video of the setup in action, and look for it to be available in April for $39.99.

I'd buy it in a heart beat if it was $15
NeoDarkSaver @ Jan 13th 2009 7:51PM

It's BlackBerry not Blackberry. You guys don't do this spelling mistake usually.
Nadool @ Jan 14th 2009 3:38AM
Technically, they still spelled it correctly.
Stooge.

Epic Fail at that price, i dont see the reason for paying for the price when i can get a bluetooth keyboard or Sony's own PS3 keypad around the same price point.
@Homeboy You re right right product, very wrong price
gonintendo @ Jan 13th 2009 9:17PM
Gee, those sure are some great buttons!

At $40, it would make more sense to just buy the wireless keypad for the PS3. The ten extra bucks (or not if you buy online) is worth the convenience of having the keypad attached tot he controller, and instantly accessible without having to wake it up like a phone.
If this app was $10, it would totally be worth it. I would buy the equivalent if it were released on the iPhone.

Perhaps someone can enlighten me. If they are using BT then why do they need a dongle?
Mark @ Jan 13th 2009 11:58PM
I like the idea, but it should definitely be an app without additional hardware. Why not just Bluetooth direct to the PS3??
axium @ Jan 14th 2009 12:03AM
Brilliant idea, miserable execution.

People with BlackBerries have time to use a PS3
/The people at Unity4life must figure that if you can afford a BlackBerry and a PS3 you can plunk down 40 bucks

The ONLY game with a good way of typing stuff is Beyond Good & Evil.
Its the best/fastest way of typing on a console using a controller.
mark @ Feb 4th 2009 6:26PM
good idea, but epic failure on pricing. I would never spend more than $10 on a phone app. Hopefully this price drops or someone else less greedy releases a similar app.
