Now that
CES and its wide range of
goodies and
garbage are behind us, it's time to take a look at the first roundup of Crapgadgets in the year 2009. Not surprisingly, the creators of crap are kicking things off in extraordinary fashion, with an actual "bust warmer," cassette tape-turned-USB hub and a handset leash making the cut. Those kings of catastrophe are being joined by a $100 spy pen that

That pen is a Mcgiver revival waiting to happen.
I voted for the bust warmer, as I don't think I can ever remember a time when something like that would have saved the day for me...especially when I've been within 157 centimeters of a powered-up computer. Where the devil do those Japanese women keep their computers?

ThinkGeek sells the USB hub as well. At least it's useful.
I actually like the USB hub. It provides 4 more USB ports (well really 3) and it looks retro.
I want the spy cam pen. That would be awesome.... Just not $99 awesome. Maybe $35? Definitely $20.

When I landed on this story, my first thought was "Which type of bust are they talking about?"

I picked the chair because a) it is fugly and b) some people think you can throw an ipod dock in anything and it will immediately be awesome. I'm not buying a huge ugly piece of furniture because I can plug one brand of mp3 player into it. At least the other stuff was small and acceptably gimmicky.
At the price, the spy pen is obviously meant for those who have a real need for such a thing. You know, real spies.
The bust warmers are hilarious. Turn them over and they look like a smiling mouth. Well, of course they do.
Chair is just one more crappy audio accessory. Docks and earphones. That's all you need. If you want a chair, get a chair, but quit throwing speakers into everything so you can sell it to some iPod carrying dumbass.
The USB hub is just awesome. Of course, people will rag on it b/c its not someones mod, but it is still sweet.
And the leash? I don't want to affix things to my sleek gadgets. Especially not crap.
I want that spy pen. that thing is awesome. I don;t know about paying $100 for it though. if it was like $15 I'd buy it, no question about it.
