Nokia 5730 XpressMusic gets exhaustively previewed
Well, hello there 5730 XpressMusic, so nice to finally meet you! This admittedly odd looking Nokia has been brought to our attention courtesy of Russia's own Mobile-Review, and while we're still trying to decide whether or not the QWERTY slide-out keyboard is a turn off or totally awesome (with its dot matrix-styled font), we figured it prudent to pass along the information, anyway. Said mobile sports a 2-inch QVGA screen, backlit keys, a 1,000mAh battery good for 4.5 hours of yappin', EDGE data, inbuilt GPS, 128MB of RAM, a microSD card slot, USB / Bluetooth and Symbian S60 running the show. We're told to expect it out in European markets this April for €220 ($289), though worldwide availability remains a mystery. Have a look in the read link for eleventy billion more images and a poorly translated preview.

We have english version as well guys :)
Hey, Eldar:
Was wondering if it was you that got arrested with those Sony Erickson prototype phones - Glad to see you're still wondering free, bringing us good info. Now, when is that damn E77 coming?
Wow he's even here...
And no it wasn't him arrested with those phones :)
Guess what? Engadget didn't update the read link yet...
Hey, you changed the picture!
edge... that is soooo 2007. i like the keyboard, although nokia needs to learn to be more sexy. reminds me of an ex-gf.
Correction: Edge is soooo 2004.
Correction: EDGE is so Blackberry 2009 ;)
why is there that line between the g and the h? and at the sides of the keyboard?
looks too flat, like it would be kinda hard to feel distinction between the keys.
did that picture change?
Not any hint about E77 ;) And I wasnt arrested, but was in Lund at the same time. Think a lot of protos are coming out...
lol
I am a pretty die hard Nokia fan. I find that rather ugly.
Yeuck, inDEED! What is that QWERTY doing there? Isn't 5 series supposed to be xpress music? They should add music-related addons, NOT keyboard!
But it does make sense for the young people the phone is targeting - keyboard to send txt messages. But the rest of the phone lacks innovation, true.
This makes me even happier with my Shadow.
Would be awesome to have 2 read links - to English page and "poorly translated" English page, would be interesting to compare the two :)
Is there a special reason you ignored the availible translation on the site (http://www.mobile-review.com/review/nokia-5730-en.shtml) and linked to the google translated russian page?
ah man thats nice. really nice, i wonder if it'll ever come to the US. just hope it would be thin, im rocking the 5310 now and it looks thinner then this. of course it would be a little thick cuz of the slide out, but still. i like the tube to, 5800. amazing how i can remember nokia's models. lol also like the n97. so many phones.
They can keep it in Europe. Idon't want to see it in the states.
I need a phone like this to have AWS 3G, and allow tethering! SO many are coming out, NONE with aws.... argh
Mobile-review.com really put its logo the right place with the right color to make it look like a file folder tab. I was shocked at first and thought this could be some kind of contraption to pull the keyboard out. lol......
Is it just me or does this look fake?
It's just you.
There's simply no 3g network coverage in Moscow - 5730 has 3.5G =)
