Nokia's Comes With Music service plans world tour

Nokia's all-you-can-eat Comes With Music service has been humming along quite nicely across the pond, but until now, we've been left in the dark about its plans for world domination. No more, as a recent Reuters report has it that the unlimited music service should be headed to Australia, Asia and Singapore later this quarter and Latin America / USA sometime this year. We're also told that more corners of Europe should get served in the future, though no window of time was handed out there. It should be interesting to see if any carriers jump in to subsidize these, but our gut feeling says they'll be sold for a premium unlocked at your nearest Nokia flagship.

Its a shame the U.S operators (to be honest) doesn't really like Nokia and all the analysts, podcasters (lookin at you Cnet and TWIT) seem to forget that there are other phone manufactures accros the pond. They all seem to think that what ever is number one in the states is the number one in the world, No research what soooo ever.

Anyway i really hope Nokia does go ahead with it and works hard to convince the US networkd to subsidise their phones. if they have managed to sell 15 million N95s in 2years and 22 million 6300 in a year and a half then they must be doing somthing right everywhere else bar the U.S.

Don want to rumble on but just want to mension that am not a nokia fanboy, I just work for a UK Operator on a graduate technology programme and have a big interest in phones.

Love the U.S (cos you guys love my English accent) just a shame that the people with the biggest voices dont care mush about the world outside the states plus they do little research.

Well, when Nokia allow me to download all my music for free, like I currently do, then I might be interested in what they have to offer in this regard. LOL! ;)

@biggwill, the US telecoms industry is so heavily regulated, at the moment, that it takes nearly a crowbar, with an explosive charge at the end, to make any inroads into it. I do wish Nokia, and other non-American cell phone manufacturers, success with attempting though as they've making some really nice phones.

Excellent. Now if Nokia can get their heads out of their arses and include this service from launch on new handsets rather than sticking it on old phones like the N95 then it might actually work.

And no, the N96 doesn't count because it's a commercial failure due to the stupidly long delay in bringing it to market. Honestly Nokia should sack its marketing department for stupidity.
