Huawei bringing Android smartphone to next month's MWC
We already knew Huawei's gearing up to enter the Android smartphone market -- at least in Australia -- and now the company has confirmed plans to show its first device at February's Mobile World Congress. Unfortunately we don't know much else at the moment, but we expect to shed some more light on this next month. Additionally, the company says it'll be showing the world's smallest modem, the world's first commercial HSPA+ Stick, and a new digital photo display, among other surprises. We're hoping those known unknowns turn out to be more Android phones, but something tells us they wouldn't be so coy with that.

This I'll have to see, wonder which existing smartphone they are gonna "inspire their design from"
Huawei is a leading company in terms of R&D; it's the world's 4th largest patent holder behind Siemens, Matsushita, and Philips. Do you really think they are so lacking in innovation? Also listed as 3rd most influential company in the world by BusinessWeek behind Google and Apple.

Ditto. However, Huawei did learn from Cisco in terms of usability and functionality, but with their own implementation.
I pre-ordered this phone months ago
Never heard of them until today.
A bit of a look at their website and they seem to be more of a tech provider for industry rather than over the counter consumer phones. The kind of company that provides "Solutions".
So what's the deal? Is this going to be a consumer phone?
Is it just me, or does that crown fit android man?
this image bests that of the moto-android in my opinion... priti cool
Indian War-chief Android Man
That is the best Android logo ever. Even better than the original.
i just saved to my hdd:)
What is Android? Does it run Mojave?
your kidding, right?
What is it with you and mojave? DO you work for Steve Ballmer?
I must say, that's a nice 'fro.
I think the first company that produces a good looking Android phone for a reasonable price will discover a gold mine in sales.
The race is still wide open.
What, a new smartphone out, about 20 comments on, and not a single person has mentioned the iPhone yet? WTF?
Oh wait, I just went and ruined it!
Huawei is a chinese maker of a broken-down handset data gateway. They basically reverse-engineered and undersold all other gateways in an attempt to capture market share at the expense of crappy engineering.
Huawei is massive in telecom infrastructure.
No idea on the handsets.
Maybe slightly better than CECT?
wow, at least more guys recognized HW.
Hw income increase more than 30% in this recession year...
