Lian-Li's PC-888: if the Burj Al Arab were a PC chassis
We're not sure what percentage of each PC-888 sale goes straight to the owners of Dubai's Burj Al Arab, but it better be a lot. Lian-Li's latest eye-popping PC chassis looks pretty much exactly like the aforesaid hotel, and it's constructed from a significant amount of blue anodized aluminum. As you can probably tell from just looking, you can fit practically anything you'd ever need (as far as PC internals go) in here, with the case measuring in at 11.6- x 29.1- x 18.1-inches. A price has yet to be publicly disclosed, but a quick search brings up figures in the high $400s. Yeah, ouch.

Fugly? Well woudn't be too bad in black,.. but that blue... ewww!!
I think I just threw up a little bit. Lian Li usually makes such nice and classy looking stuff. I agree mega fugly.
i agree, it's a shame the market for this case is to small to justify them releasing it in black... i love the thin and tall design, very smart when considering air cooling performance.
i do think they took it to far in that top section with rod.... if they would have left the whole top part off, it would be a very tempting case!
I woudl buy it if it was black. The design is unique (attractiveness will vary based on personal preference), and the layout is amazing. Due for my bi-annual CPU/Mobo upgrade in April and a new case would go a long with that quite nicely....
If it was black you'd get lawsuits from the BBC and 'Doctor Who' cause it's half a step in design from a full blown Dalek.
Why would anyone want that eyesore in their home? That's if it fits inside anyone's home...
and you know whoever will buy this case, will fill it with neon lights!
Absolutely! Maybe Lian-Li should cut out the middleman and just stick the neon lights in there to begin with?
NO TENNIS COURT/HELIPAD.
NO SALE.
Yeah, but can you land a toy helicopter on the top?
No, if there were a helipad you could land a real helichopter. The scale of the case is 1:1
If I could land a real helicopter on there, then surely I could land a toy one.
But if you can land a real helicopter AND afford this case, why are you still playing with toys?
Because you can.
oh, the ugliness... ugh!
Really tempted to buy it, gut it, and buy buckets of LEGO people. Pent house is reserved for the Bruce Wayne Kubrick.
nice
It's interesting that lian can make a case for only 12 customers during these times while quimonda for instance is filing for bankruptcy and yet tons of devices with RAM are sold.
Looks like a kegerator
Some things really make me pine for the old beige box.....
They should have chromed the chassis into gold or silver.
This looks just .... amazing! It is pricey, yeah, but had I the money I'd get one for sure. Finally a PC you don't have to hide under your desk. it can become a real focus point of the whole room.
Sometimes, I really hope people are being sarcastic. This is one of those moments.
Sorry for double posting, but do you mean you don't have to hide it under your desk, or do you mean you wouldn't be able to hide it under your desk?
@renmimby: OP won't hide it. It will be the main focus implies it has to be visible.
I actually kind of like it. Granted, I think I'd like it better in black or silver, but it's not bad. Very unique and eye catching. A sort of industry meets technology meets architecture look.
That is definitely a sight for sore eye.
wow.. Lian Li, apart from making your pc sound like a noodle shop, now add further insult to injury by making it spectacularly ugly.
What is the pole on the top for ? the warning light for aircraft ?
They could have at least made it into a wireless antenna or something useful
This has to be the fugliest case I have ever seen. Totally clashes with other lian li cases, where's the elegance?
Lian Li are getting with the times, I can see it now "Change you don't need"
Well, ummm... The design is a little over the top, I'll grant you that. I don't mind the blue too much though (anodized black, or even dk. gray would be better). I'll have to say that I've owned Lian Li cases in the past and they are the absolute best IMHO. The build quality and attention to convenience of maintenance (the slide-out trays, and thumb screws... ) are just some of the best features one could ask for in a case. Would I buy this one? No. It's just not my cup of tea, and I sure wouldn't want to have to find a blue monitor/keyboard/mouse/office accents to make a go of this "fashion statement"; though a good case modder could have a field day with it all :-) . Just one man's opinion.
That's not just ugly. That's $400 worth of huge and ugly! Lian Li, what are you trying to compensate for?
odd as computer technician pt of view
too noise to be placed as home decoration (lol only if its power off)
finishing looks unprofessional to me as a geek pt of view
Lian-Li's next creation - the Burj Dubai PC Tower Case! It puts the Taipei 101 case and the Shanghai World Financial Centre case to shame, and you can stuff several computers into it.*
*Disclaimer: It may not fit in your house...
With the newest tech from Intel
The 65 M processor
I heard $600-$800 MSRP at CES.
For the past ten years or so, I have always kept my eye out for Lian-Li cases. It's nice to see innovation in design and function -- even if it's just the case.
Bit-tech.net gave it a relatively poor score for its value, mediocre cooling and horrible cable routing.
Wow. All it needs to do now is transform and raid oil plants for energon.
That's a disgrace to the Burj Al Arab, the real thing looks a bwillion times better
I actually like the look of this design, and it would be nice if lightly lit... but I can see that shell just begging for dust to settle on every little step.
