Video: Internet dog feeder feeds your dog... via the internet

A young man named Tyler's built a little gadget that will feed his dog even when he's not around. Using an ioBridge IO-204 module and a continuously rotating servo in the feeder, he's able to dispense some kibble via a web page he's built which monitors the action via a webcam. Check the video -- the dog sure seems to think it's rad.

Don't forget to patent it too!
I wish he could feed me some internet
Aren't dogs all pussy-like and start crying and destroying furniture when they are left alone? I don't know what a dog would do if it only had this feeding robot for company.
This could work for cats though, they aren't pussies and they're ok as long as the food keeps coming
Stop by my place some time and I will let you meet my 120lb Rottweiller. When you do come over, make sure you knock real loud on the door, then take his food away, and don't let him have his favorite bone.
Then we can see who the real pussy is.
"This could work for CATS though, they aren't PUSSIES"
Uhhhhhh... if you say so, guess I missed the memo.
Also, cue the sharks.
This seems like the start of what happened in that Untraceable movie.
P.S. I had to see it because my friends and I went to the movie and we each picked a movie to see. This was not my choice.

its been done before and is already commercially available in an Insteon compatible kit. Engadget dropped the ball on this one IMHO, nothing special.
This was made by a child, which is why we're interested.
Very clever. I'd not have been able to do the same when I was his age, but back then all we had were sticks, mud, sinew and flint.
Get rid of your dog if you cant care for it. Properly.
If building a ROBOT for your dog isn't taking care of it properly, I don't know what is...
@dan
I hope to Christ you don't have a dog, or children for that matter.
So if you go on vacation intending to feed your dog via internet while you're away, and then the 'net goes out, does your dog die?
done before

FUUUUCKKK
I'm partway through an engineering degree and i can't even do that. Time to wrap this shit up and change my major to tomfoolery or something.
Pee Wee's was better.
you kids and your crazy contraptions...
Whatever. Now if it used a sensor that knew when the dog was hungry and it tweeted to the human that the dog wants to be fed; that would be epic.
But it is still cool.
the HEIGHT of laziness?
*Internet connection fails*
*Dog cannot eat*
*Dies from starvation*
:(
Now, if someone could just invent something to walk my dog and pick up her poop...
Cool gadget!
Kinda a shame that the dog's mouth will start watering every time it hears a servo! LOL
Want to have this in my house,
but my dogs would probably destroy the box for more food,
he couldn't wait.
Seriously.
