It works a lil dif than a reg phone.. Yes you can make calls and get calls, most let you test CallerID functions, but the thing that really sets it apart from a reg phone is that it can tell you how much voltage is on the phone lines and you can pull out the Dialtone to check the quality of the phone lines (static and such)
