Quake gets ported to the BUG, controlled by Rock Band guitar

The folks from Bug Labs certainly represented themselves well enough at CES with a slew of new BUGModules, but we're guessing they would have attracted even more attention if they would have had this perennial favorite on hand. If you can't quite make it out, that's Quake running (rather well, we might add) on the BUG and, yes, it is indeed being controlled by a Rock Band guitar thanks to the newly developed Xpad driver, which should work equally well with a standard Xbox 360 controller if you're a little less ambitious. Head on past the break to check it out in action, and hit up the link below for all the necessary details.

BUG = neat concept.
Quake on BUG = pretty cool.
Quake on BUG controlled by Rock Band Guitar = uh...?
I know it could use any XBox controller, but using a Rock Band Guitar for the demo is just ... weird.
Why not show of quake with the XBox controller... and Frets on Fire or something with the Rock Band Guitar?
That would make for some pretty neat demos.
This just seems rather pointless.
This might win the most random combination of thinks used to play doom/quake me thinks.
things not thinks, er
I'm learning to play Katamari with a DDR dancepad, so it won't hold the title for long...
[replying to fernando in case it STILL doesn't work, and in either case appy polly logies for the double post :-p]
I've always wondered what it would be like to play Quake on a three inch screen with a guitar.
I guess I don't have to wonder anymore.
Something is wrong when the controller is bigger than the system. But still neat.
No one complained when the X-Box came out... Oh, wait, we did complain.
n.
why?
Wow. Is Quake really such a loved game?
Yes.
I've got it on my iPod touch too, but it's damn near impossible to control. Stupid lack of buttons....
I had it on my n800, and it didn't play for shit. The fact that Quake can be played on anything doesn't make it worth playing.
I think Doom is more loved. But the news would have said "the Bug is Doomed"...
subtle, using the axe in quake while using a guitar as controller...
Nice catch.
... I don't get it.
I was on the fence about buying one of these, but now...
Now I'm sold.
i actually just talked to some guys from buglabs at a career fair at my school today. they showed me quake on the bug but not with a guitar controller....
Whoa !!! There goes ma guitar..... Hold U, Doom U, Quake U, Boom U .... !!!!
This is made for Trent Reznor.
Quake 1 running so slow makes me understand just how powerful that bug is.
And yes, its pretty pointless to port Q1 on a small screen having low FPS while Q3A gets ported to WinMo and runs 39fps on WVGA screen (800x480) and is actually playable. S60 port with 19 fps on 320x240 screen is NOT playable.
I just hope PSP2 will have a much more powerful platform :)
In before 'Will it blend?'
Up next, Crysis gets ported to the BUG, controlled by a Blendtek.
With all of the problems in the world to solve, wouldn't this kind of energy be better directed to that effort?
well that depends...what other problems can you solve with a guitar controller and a 3 inch screen?
I wonder what the multiplayer match would look like... o_O
You know what would be really neat? As I think about this. If you remember a movie made by Antonio Banderas (I hope I got the name correct!!) a few years back where his Guitar would turn into a machine gun (or something similar). I mean playing in bars and when
someone pisses you off you just........ BAM.
Or was it a guitar case with a gun inside? Hell, I don't remember. But you get the idea, right?
Now, that's a guitar I want to buy
Google is your friend, it's Desperado, probably the most popular movie of Antonio Banderas (not saying much).

I'll only play this if star power activates an automatic rocket jump.
I am soooo over RB and GH- have any of you heard about that new game with the turn table console? I think its called Scratch- ultimate dj... its time to throw away the guitars...
