Acer smartphone launching February 16th, everybody flamenco!

Could someone elaborate on why I'm seeing all these thing happening in Barcelona, off all places ?

And the annual euro-cellphone expo , is in Barcellona because no other city could/would match the favors/perks/aids and conditions that Barcellona city's administration offered to the expo organizers.

I absolutely despise marketing like this, using all these vague intangible slogans like "the rhythm of your life".

Unless its a hardcore music phone (with a couple of Yamaha built-in speakers to boot), I don't see how this can be the rhythm of my life in any way.

I think i'm so bored by this teaser ... if this was Samsung or LG, it will be some nice gorgeous looking Asian babe.............eh, except for the occasional fugly dudes that tend to stand behind/side the chicks...
At no point does it say that that the whole flamenco thing is to do with Barcelona. It could be the name of the phone or anything. To me its saying it will be a music/Multimedia phone.

Why is Acer marketing its smartphone as a music phone?
Anyway I hope it's an Android... that could be the only reason for me to hold an Acer phone (but I said that about Palm before the Palm Pre, so you never know...)
Nevermind the phone... there's an open bar from 8:30 to 11! That kind of party can make any product seem amazing.
That was the first thing I noticed. I comprehended cocktail and open bar after my first read. Does that mean I'm an alcoholic? Never thought that epiphany would come from reading engadget.

My Acer laptop's been doing great for 3+ years now.

Exactly... I had 2 acers and they both fucked up pretty quick... One overheated so bad, that the casing melted above the graphics card :S

i like E-TEN phones. i own a G500 that i have been using for over a year and it is a great product. i hope with the acquisition that Acer will still keep the brand as E-TEN and not be re-branded as Acer. Also, why would they want to compete with themselves with an Acer smartphone when they already own E-TEN unless they want ot slowly phase that company out.
I think E-TEN has a better products for smartphones and better build quality. Only if anyone knew what my device went through and it still works... the only thing that is broken is the microphone, so i have to use my bluetooth to talk on the phone. I don't mind it that much, i bought it that way from ebay already like that(it was used product), but i did do some of my own damage to it, but the screen is in excellent condition, and the touchscreen works flawlessly, no scratches or anything.
It says overthere "SmartphoneS launch". That means that there will be more than one handset. And that's really interesting!

I'll be impressed when google's phone OS his the market bigger. As far as these dismal smart phone OSs.. well, that's why they are.. dismal and leave a lot to be desired.
