Seriously though, I'm more interested in why they decided that the microphone opening needed to be such an obvious anus on an otherwise normal star. There are only 8 appropriately-sized orifices in the torch mere millimeters away.

640x480 /= QVGA...
When you click on the Read link it takes you to Ajoka's page for this product and it says: "Video Compression︰ AVI video format, 640x480 ,QVGA / 30fps"
So there is supposed to be a comma in between the two, they just put the space in front of it on their page. Engadget just said "Pfft...we don't no stinkin commas!" and tossed it aside like a prom night dumpster baby.

Even better if it had false bottom that covered everything on the bottom.
How hard would it be to make a fake bottom? Just get a thing piece of black aluminum, drill two holes for the screws, and a opening for the on/off switch & record button.
I want one. A belt buckle or glasses could possibly work better though. And get a 1920x1080 sensor in it for good measure. :)

easy, lots of people take the bulk out of their pocket like a cell, smokes and lighter which can be left on the table as if you were getting down to business and wanted the weight out of your pocket.

This would have been better if the camera is on the bottom, no one lays down a lighter casually in the upright position, usually you toss it on the desk or something.

Yeah - 640v480 is VGA not QVGA....
Notice how the read link says "640x480, QVGA", that comma implies it can record at both resolutions, don't know whether the 30 FPS applies to both.

To use this you'd have to light it left handed which would just be awkward, unless you were left handed that is.
