Sidekick LX 2009 outed in survey, could possibly be real

Whoa, whoa -- calm down hiptoppers. Don't act like you didn't know a new Sidekick was coming in the year two-thousand and nine. Actually, there is a fair reason to celebrate here, 'cause if these specs are true, the Sidekick LX 2009 will be a surefire winner. A reader over at HipTop3 reportedly came across this image above while taking an online survey, which -- as your eyes have no doubt confirmed -- shows off the very first 3G / GPS enabled Sidekick ever. Specs wise, it'll supposedly boast a 3.2-inch WVGA display (854 x 480), a 3.2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, easy access to YouTube, MySpace and Twitter, turn-by-turn navigation and video recording capabilities. Sadly, there's still a sliver of a chance this could all be a hoax, but we know your brain isn't letting itself accept that fact at the moment, now is it?

I dunno. I want a new phone(I currently have the sidekick 08) but I'm torn between the Curve 8900, G2 and now this. The only way I would get this is if it also allows me to set my own songs as ringtones. That's a big point for me.

Im a sidekick man to the end, but if it doenst come with the touch screens any time soon im gonna be stuck with my G1 and G2s....even tho the G1 spoils me...if there was only a touchscreen sidekick id be 'kickin again in no time...

I had Sidekicks up until the G1, now I have that...I havent heard anything about a G2? I dont think any Sidekick will EVER be touchscreen or allow you to dowload your own music like the G1 does...or at least mine does...I cannot go back to Sidekick because they make you pay for every single little thing, even a friggin ALARM! Everything is free on G1 and I love that the apps are free and on the iphone they have to pay for everything lol....the G1 has some pretty cool apps that I didnt think would be that great until I dl them, and they proved to be great....

Hi I have sidekick 3. But I want new one like G1... But I would like to know about G1.. Does It have vibrate everytime you get ims on aim, msn, yahoo messenger? also email? Can it video recording capabilities? I heard that people have problem with keyboard bec little far on right side... Whats color lights on keyboard? Does tracking ball flash lights even get ims, emails? Please let me know. Thanks :-)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that image says, "Microsoft Live Local Search and Maps"

...Doesn't that mean this will be the FIRST Microsoft DANGER device running Windows Mobile? Is there another version of Live Local Search and Maps?!?!

I think this is big news that Microsoft is going to be releasing their first phone running Microsoft software.

...And a 3.2" 854x480 is a NICE high-res screen. If that camera is a high quality CCD instead of the lamo CMOS cameras most phones have this could be a nice combo. The Sidekick formfactor is legendary, their keyboard rocks and it's fun to flip the screen up.

It might not necessarily run Windows Mobile. They make live search for other platforms, even Blackberry.

I did not know about Microsoft's new BETA version of Live Search for the Blackberry, but that is real.

However, there is no real Live Search + Maps option for other phones. Their site (http://livesearchmobile.com/any_mobile_phone.htm) seems to indicate that there is but that version is simply the web based HTTP/Browser interface you could get on your desktop by going to m.live.com

Maybe this phone is a fake, but eventually Microsoft will release a Danger product running their software instead of the old SideKick gear. And maybe, just maybe, this is it.

I just got off the phone with a T-Mobile rep. and (after saving over $700 in overages) asked him if he has heard anything about a Sidekick 3G device. He sighed heavily, basically confirming it to me. He then said "I am supposed to say the following," followed by an I am not allowed to tell speech. Then he said "I can however tell you there are many new devices in production including a lot of new Samsung phones with Android technology and a Sidekick which may include 3G technology."
