Motorola ZN300 looks possibly okay, sort of

We knew the name, but when it comes to phones, it's not really the name we care about, now is it? (Is it?) Looks like we now have the first totally unofficial shot of Motorola's upcoming ZN300 slider, said to feature a QVGA display and 3 megapixel cam around back. Unless this puppy runs Android through some comical error in communication between Moto's executive and engineering teams, the glossy front, generous bezel, and rockin' offset "M" logo aren't enough to do it for us -- but we're sure they'll manage to sell a few for a song on contract when it's finally announced. Go, sk8r boi, go!

I have to say (in general) that I don't understand why everyone want Android. I see nothing special in it - it's not even that user friendly.

Yeah, from all the articles posted about he flaws of Android running on the G1 I have no idea why people want it in this crude stage. Despite this, Android is the flavor of the month and Moto needs to jump aboard. Seriously, I don't see why it's soo damn hard for them to pump out a good handset. A lot of their handsets aren't bad, they're just awful to a point where I wonder who the hell decided to okay its production.

I used to be in Moto's corner (and part of me still is), but it needs to get its act together or it's going to go under. It's saddening to see the makers of the RAZR reduced to this. If Palm can FINALLY generate some well-deserved hype, so can Moto.

...just read a damn cell phone site, see what the people like, put 4 of the remaining, idk, 20 people in R&D on it and make it happen.

Ugh, this FAIL that Motorola consistent and thoroughly exhibits is astounding...

i FAIL to see who companies are investing in this hybrid touch technology.

Consumers are in the market for FULL TOUCHSCREEN, not some half arse bottom control heat sensitive button scheme. How many times have wee seen this fail setup?

-Samsung Upstage & most mp3 players
-Venus
-LG Chocolates
..and so forth

-haptic feedback control does not help it, better off using hard buttons


Motorola Mobile it is time for you to die... these abominations are mind boggling, I cannot fathom how any higher upper could let these pass any stage of development...

Motorola's designs are really dated. This would have looked good on 01. Instead of just laying off people they need to hire some good designers. Android alone will not save the division.

Aside from iEye being iEye and his obligatorily included last line, he's completely right (...besides implying the Chocolate's lack of success) and I don't see why he was down-ranked. A lot of the phones released really are like WTF-WHO-THE-HELL-SIGNED-OFF-ON-THAT?! terrible. I mean, the Krave ZN4? Really?

Honestly. I don't think this looks half bad. I think this is better looking than most sliders available. Touchscreen is getting very popular, but it is not going to replace regular buttons anytime soon for most people. The iPhone's keyboard is still a bitch to type on. As for the Motorola logo, it's still awesome. I have to give it to Motorola for tying something different. Everybody here is so negative. I bet if this phone were white and had an Apple logo on it. It would be highly praised for no apparent reason.
