LG Arena KM900 touchscreen phone shows itself in print

We got a whiff of this one last month courtesy of the FCC, but it looks like LG's new Arena KM900 touchscreen phone is now fully making its way out into the open, with the above image and some specs to go along with it surfacing in advance of MWC. As you can see above, this one bears a little resemblance to the Samsung Omnia, and boasts a 5-megapixel camera (plus a secondary one for video calls, it seems), built-in GPS, WiFi, and what's described as an "innovative S-Class 3D interface." Unfortunately, complete specs are still a bit of a mystery, but the phone is apparently on track to hit Europe as soon as March, and it seems a pretty safe bet that LG will have more to say about this one at MWC later this month.
What's next for LG, how a bout a ripoff of the the new BB Curve? Why didn't they just make it an Android phone instead, nothing to steal, it's open!

Oh my god! I am a huge fan of both Apple and LG. I have owned 5 LG phones, and I loved them. So as a current iphone user and a past LG user I must say to LG, WTF? how can anyone sit here and say that this shot of the home screen isnt a total iphone rip. Lets be a little more creative guys!
As a finishing touch, they left out cut and paste capabilities!

Well....obviously the brushed metal finish makes it completely different from all other handsets on the market.....
I am seriously really disappointed with the iPhone impact to be honest. I had (hoped) that it would have stimulated the market place to be creative... but in the end... everyone is just copying. Where are the creative advancements? New user interactions? sigh... so very sad.

I'm not a fan of the iPhone and even I have to say this looks quite a bit like the iPhone. They could have at least changed the color of the background. They could have at least been a bit more original with the icons. At first glance it looks like one of those cheap chinese mp4 players you see on eBay all the time. Then you notice the nice brushed aluminum face. Which means it's a premium product right? I mean, is this premium product more premium than the iPhone because it has premium product making aluminum?
Come on LG. Stop trying to get some fruity stink on your hang low...

But what is this I see? 5 MP camera? A secondary camera? All the features and looks of the iPhone plus additional stuff = win!
Regardless of the fact that this is a great looking phone and shouldn't be compared and/or bashed until the final product, the iPhone comparison/ belittleing'll start in 4...3...2...1....GO!

Remind me again why the Palm Pre might face legal problems from Apple as opposed to something like this?

Apple is worried about real competition from someone bringing in products with iphone like features (read UI experience) than about someone just copying the looks which is cheap imitation. Why would anyone buy a costlier LG if they can buy a cheapo chinese copy on ebay (assuming LG couldnt copy any of the real features).

The icons aren't all like the iPhone icons! LOL! The phone looks more like the Omnia first of all. Second, I'm comparing to my iPhone right now and let's see, Contacts - NO, Dialing - Ok, seriously how else are you supposed to make this, Messaging - Not even close, Music - It's an iPod picture on mine, Camera - Ok this is similar, Gallery - This is the same picture they use on the Dare, Calculator - NOPE, Calendar - This one is also similar but who doesn't use this anymore, Settings - They've used the gears symbol for a while now. The layout looks similar but really it isn't any more similar than previous phones. Don't get me wrong, I haven't found a phone as enjoyable as my iPhone but I would like to see someone put out real competition so Apple can finally add real improvements to the next one and not just a barely usable GPS and battery draining 3G.
I don't like that big homescreen button - the iPhone doesn't have one of those.
this reminds me of those situations where unsuspecting parents will get KIRK Wiis and the such for their kids...

Seriously , Is this LG's way of throwing in the towel. I mean if u cant beat'em clone'em.,?? Is that LG's answer to creating the "iphonekiller".,This is another clear indication that we are years away from witnessing the "iphonekiller". this is pathetic to say the least. When people see such iclone failure , they will be turned away so quick n make sure they do not purchase lg arena. I mean not even europeans are stupid enough to buy this.
I think it looks better than the Iphone
