Timex Expedition WS4 hands-on

The folks at Timex were kind enough to send us a pre-production version of their Expedition WS4 watch, and we can tell you right now -- some serious adventuring is about to begin. We haven't had a chance to do all the rock climbing, mountain biking, and sumo wrestling we plan on using this watch for, but we already feel stronger, smarter, more aware of the outside temperature, and way better looking. After we take on a crew of zombie Nazis, ride in a barrel over Niagara Falls, and spend 24 hours encased in ice, we'll let you know how it holds up. Until then, enjoy the pics.

Did I mention how ugly this watch is? LOL... Forget an ugly stick. This watch was run over by an "ugly" TANK! And then it backed up and ran over it again just to make sure.

i'm sorry, but that's big and ugly. i've got a casio paw-1500 that does pretty much the same thing, is solar powered, water proof to 100meters, and sets itself world wide by radio signals.

Himalayan climbing is burly. Weeklong storms, loose rock, rarefied air and basic malnutrition. Not everyone’s definition of fun. Yet as a place to test the WS4 there is nothing better. The altimeter, barometer, compass and thermometer all preformed flawlessly ~ the WS4 is an instrument I know I can count on.
