Nice colors. Now how about moving the analog controller a bit closer to the screen and actually make it usable.

yea, the psp is nearly unusable with that stick. especially compared to a playstation...
Well, I had a PSP Slim and Tombio has a point, after 15 minutes of gameplay my left hand finger I used for the stick started hurting, I always enjoyed games that made use of the pad above the stick (like vice city stories and burnout).
For 169$ I think psp is quite a deal...
I wish there was an X-box portable too though, I want a mini Oblivion (AKA morrowind) in my pocket.

No.
No matter how many different colors they release, PSP is still a PSP. The UMD is epic failed! No touch screen no multi touch, no internal large flash storage space except the expensive and outdated memory stick duo.
Agree. Something as simple as a second analog stick on the other side of the screen would have done wonders for design/gameplay.
Granted, the UMD failed so badly even it's own mother wouldn't love it, but if you're implying that the PSP sucks because of that than you're just a fanboi. unless there are two screen (a la DS), then I don't really WANT a touch screen as the main method of control, as I would actually like to "see" the game, thanks. DS gets kudos for it's one because it's got another main screen, uses a stylus (look! I can touch AND see!), and still got tactile buttons for more conventional games.
As for the storage; Yup, I would so like sony not to use proprietary flash formats, and jump on the SD / MinSD/ uSD train, but the weather forecast in Hell would be heavy snow when that happens. BUT, I'll take external flash cards as opposed to internal ones any day. Why? If you're storing games & movies on those cards, then you can buy a bunch and get "unlimited" storage for such a little extra weight & space.
I don't understand the hate for UMD - sure, flash mem would have been a better choice but UMD has never stopped me from playing a game - it delivers exactly what it promises while being tricky to pirate (before DA at least)
Wtf is wrong with everyone? MS DUO is so much better than SDHC... I mean if you want bigger storage you don't need to change devices like EVERYONE with SD has to. It comes in 32GB already and 64GB is on the way, and guess what? It's PSP and ALL MS DUO compatible, even the ones that came out in 05

Take a look at the prices of an 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo vs an 8GB SDHC.
On newegg.com the SDHC is $12 and the Memory Stick Pro Duo is $37.
So you're paying three times more for the same capability and the privilege of a format which only works in Sony products.

I bought a 16Gb MS DUO for $172 last November and still hurts A LOT.

I would pay $99.99 for a new PSP. I don't know if that is fair to Sony or not, but I don't really care. That's how much value the PSP holds for me.
It can't be that expensive to make a PSP by now, so it's probably very doable. At least $125, I mean come on Sony!

Yeah, I have a PSP-2000 and got to see the 3000 screen last month at the airport while traveling, there is definite interlacing on the screen and its a step back from the 2000 screen, despite its better color reproduction, real damn shame.
I have been tempted, but I have to admit, I'm holding out for a Pandora now.
One wonders why Sony doesn't just copy everything Apple does...
Like how Apple copied the chiclet keyboard from the Vaio X505 , also the Macbook Air of its time which managed to cram in two USB ports and an Ethernet port, all the more impressive considering it was released back in 2004 and was a very niche product, thats why most people think Apple invented that style of keyboard.

Eh, I like my black and silver just fine. In fact, its the reason the PSP slim caught my eye. I have an obsession with black/silver electronics....
