Second anonymous MP7 player surfaces -- MP3, MP4 shrug shoulders

Finally, the world's second attempt to escalate the neverending MP arms race. This sexy piece is totally standard, feature-wise -- plays audio / video, has a 1.3 megapixel camera, FM tuner and voice recording feature -- but for just $70, it's pretty much the best deal ever, right? Right?

I'm so confused.
@Gad Get - it's very simple algebra. MP3 +MP4 = MP7
shouldn't it be 2(MP)7?
Plays audio formats from the future?
Heckler & Koch get in on some portable media action?

I was thinking the same thing. Does it come in 4.6mm?
Why not MP12?
Because according to the rules, this calls for addition - not multiplication.
Lemme guess... no built-in memory?
Update: The screen is a photograph behind a sheet of plastic :P
But... Will it blend?
blend? WELL DUH OF COURSE IT WILL. That is not the question here though. I think the REAL question here is this: Will it play Crysis?
That's the first thing I thought about when I saw this. SMGs with built in media-player capabilites.
Hey, we're getting closer: MP47! It's still not MP48s and HHDDVVDDBVD players, though... ;(
And why does everyone think that an FM tuner is the way to one-up the iPod? I bet the next fad is going to be putting an accelerometer in everything! Oh, wait...
tbh an accelerometer in a digicam is usefull it's when they start putting them in spoons you start worrying
why do I see mr. blurrycam with a pic of a MP8 player soon on engadget...
Does anyone realize that (according to the box) this thing slides to reveal a perfect nes/snes game pad?????? Homebrew!!!!!
i live in a city of India which is very close to china borders , we see ton of this in local grey market. My brothers friend one exact looking product (so bad thats only MP5) , and i can assure you THIS THING DOES PLAY SNES GAMES, if you can bare with the response time , in fact it should come with some pre-installed.
P.S. it costs more like $30 here (approx 1500 INR)
Emulator support is cool, but after my last Hong-Kong "Everything and the Kitchen Sink" Multimedia player came preinstalled with a VBS Virus I *STILL* can't find a full cure for, I think I'll just stick to Japanese items.
On Brazil, some asian (from China, HK, Taiwan) gadgets are so called based on the number of resources from 3 (because of MP3 players). So, MP3 is just a music player (not only MP3 player but also a voice recorder and radio tuner); MP4, music plus photos; MP5 added video; MP6 has a cam; MP7 is in fact a cell phone (some has DTV tuner) like the ones on the "Keepin' it real fake" posts XD
Big deal... in Brazil I've seen so many MP12 being sold... they are like cellphones with TV tuner, MP3, MP4, dual-sim, all that crap you can find in a Made-in-China crap. Oh, and I've seen some MP13 already as well!
It also features the most amazing package design ever. Surely Marty McFly has only seen designs like this when he traveled into the future in "Back to the Future 2". It only looks retro because things come back in style from 1980 in 2015 again. I'm sold!!
So You've seen the one that has this really cool and looong radio antenna (probably 30cm) from the side to tune open tv? And touch screen, can't forget touch screen(with a cute litle pen that somehow fits inside the phone). Its only a MP9 but the antenna makes up for it.
Ahhh the wonder of being close to Bolivia

MP9 player illustrated, MP7 Player can't step.
Even the lady on the box is confused.
Of course she's confused... it's Tara Reid, isn't it? (lol)
duh, it has an additional x.75 mp's over an mp4 player, it must be better by at least that value
