Leaked Samsung M7600 phone sports Bang & Olufsen sound, Helio looks

We don't know exactly where this one came from... but these leaked photos appear to be of an Ocean-esque Samsung M7600. Here's what we know about it, spec-wise: it's an HSDPA phone which will have a 3 megapixel camera, GPS, a 2.8-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, and yes, a Bang & Olufsen amplifier. We understand that it'll also sport some kind of of DJ scratching app -- which should make your nightlife way more interesting -- and that it's supposedly set to appear sometime in May of this year (though we'd be surprised if we don't see more of it at MWC). Check a few more shots after the break, and hit the read link to see the device in all its glory.

Looked like psp for a sec,
not sure of the "round" shape and definately the buttons/colour on the side is not my choice
Could do better, lets hope this isn't just it, as we sometimes see with leaked pics
Same
When I hear B&O I think BO.
Can't beat that Touch Pro baby! ;)
yes you can
Generic answer there, sports fan. Wanna be a douchebag who elaborates instead of just a plain old regular douchebag?
what do you want a weird shaped screen ?
Rectangles are weird? gtfo.
it WAS a reply to ieyes comment
but that dissappeared so ....
Those B&O sound chips make iPods sound like crap, I sold my nano after getting my U900 Soul why carry two devices when my phone sounds better.
Hideous.
:(
It should have a slide out keyboard even though that would make it look even more like a Helio
TouchWiz or Symbian? Looks like both...
@iEye
so are the majority of your comments...
@Major4Play
B&O never made audio chips for the ipod......
We know.
He said that compared to B&O soundchips, iPods sound bad.
Cool.
It's hard to believe that B&O's name is printed on something this ugly!
you didnt see the old Serenata then?
Wow, Bang & Olufsen *makes* things like sound chips? Are you sure that this isn't just Samsung printing B&O's name on their product? I thought that Bang & Olufsen was just one of those companies in the same league as Bose that sells shitty products targeted at yuppies for ridiculous prices.
B&O is better known for their aesthetic design, but they are way more respected than Bose. The biggest reason they aren't more sought after by collectors is that their turntables have a proprietary cartridge design, so it's harder to find replacements. And yes, B&O does use their own chips in their own products: the Beolab 5 use the DSPs produced by B&O partner ICEpower, negating the need for a seperate power amplifier -you just plug your source directly into the speakers. The chips are also used in ICEpower amplifiers and other B&O products. Today, the chips might be produced by Sanyo or Toshiba, but they are B&O designs.
B&O is leagues above Bose.

This is a specialized music phone, actually it's more like a PMP that can make calls and send messages.
I'm more intrested in the Samsung "Show", with its integrated pico beamer.
Yes its kinda wierd, specially because all the components in B&O products are made by Philips.
"2002 ICEpower partners up with Sanyo Semiconductor - the world's leading manufacturer of high-quality audio amplifier chips, a.k.a. hybrid amplifiers, which are used in consumer electronics products." -http://www.icepower.bang-olufsen.com/en/company/history/
"2006 Partnership with Toshiba Semiconductor is initiated for the collaborative development of the ICEcar2 platform, which is to be marketed to the leading international automotive manufacturers." -http://www.icepower.bang-olufsen.com/en/company/history/
Yes, thanx for the updates on where B&O get its components : Sanyo, Toshiba, Philips, and surely many more, but the fact remains that B&O is little more than a danish design firm that packages components of some different electronics producers in a stylish shell and resells the lot at wildly inflated prices, but B&O does not make its own sound components.
So since they did'nt design that phone, I wonder what their logo on it is supposed to mean .
@ Kilgore Trout
Try reading that history again. B&O designs their own digital amplifiers (let's call them "chips"). Because of B&O's reputation producing these great little "chips", they have partnered with other chipmakers to improve products from those companies.
B&O didn't partner with Samsung to have them build B&O chips; Samsung partnered with B&O to be allowed to use B&O chips in their phones.
If you read more into the ICEpower site, they have a nice collection of the papers they've presented, which explain the technologies they've developed. It's those technologies that companies like Sanyo, Toshiba, and Samsung want to access when they partner with B&O.

B&O is much more than just a marketing gimmick or an ink-stamp on a chip. Give them credit for what they do.
complete and utter nonsense. they used to back in the 80s when they went through a dodgy period but B&O are among the most competent electronics manufacturers and designers in the world when they want to be. have a listen to their beolab 5 or 9 speakers or see the picture on a beovision 9 if you get the chance.
Living in Denmark, where B&O is much more revered then either the queen or the national flag, I have had this discussions more times than I care to remember.
All I know is that about 10 years ago I bought a complete beolab HIFI set-up at a ridiculous price, seduced by its (at the time) cool looks.
The only satisfaction I got from it was that when, deeply disappointed, I sold it a few months later, I got a sizable chunk of my money back from some poor sucker I still feel sorry for.
@ Kilgore
Well, there's your problem. You're still thinking of B&O 10 years ago - and to be honest, many electronics companies went through a period of horrid quality in the late '80s to the late '90's. I'm a big Marantz fan, and I wouldn't judge them based on the BPC they made in that era.
Today, B&O is a very high quality supplier, not just for their own products, but to some of the best boutique audiophile makers. The B&O ICEpower digital amp is used by Acoustic Reality, Bel Canto, Jeff Rowland, Red Dragon Audio, Rotel, Cary Audio, and even Martin Logan.

I hope we see better than DJ software out of WMC.
Anyone who has used a touch screen device in landscape mode for a full qwerty keyboard, and has hands bigger than a young asian girl, knows that the "wasted space" you're referring to is a really solid grip on the device and allows your thumbs to stretch out properly onto the screen.
I love the design.

Oh yeah, look at that battery level.
Must be a 3G phone running for half a day.
Its shape is too funny. like a compressed hamburger.
