Video: The $2,230 Ginza diorama speaker from Bandai
You're not the only ones wondering how a diorama speaker of Tokyo's Ginza district (circa 1955) could possibly cost more than $2,000. But after watching the video, somehow, it almost seems worth it. Almost. Hey, was that Lady Elaine?

Wut? I'm entirely lost. What's so special about this thing??
Well, it's got a time machine to jump 40 years
And there we go. In the space of three minutes, it's jumped from 1995 to 1955. That's got to be worth a couple of grand.
Where's the speaker part?

wow..either news is that slow or engadget needs to hire some new editors...never mind...its mr ricker again..that explains it all
Did anyone else feel like what characters in anime look and at like when they here something daft?
fuck the haters, this owns
Yeah.. $2000 of ownage..
No, not worth it. I'd like to see what Hong Kong can do with this. I bet then it'd cost $20 and double as an MP3 Player.
umm i dont get it
I want Akihabara or Shibuya Crossing
I prefer the boobs speakers;

For some reason, this thing brought me flashbacks of Final Fantasy VII...
What's a diorama?
Who comes up with ideas like putting a speaker inside of a diorama? It makes just as much sense to have the diorama make ice cream instead.
I feel like we're all not seeing some vital piece that would make this thing awesome and I'm not sure we'll ever find it.
The white guy speaking needs to learn more Japanese than that... sounds like a beginner, heh heh. (Yep, he's white btw)
good job, snob...
