This Mii is a criminal
The sketch artist at the Kanagawa, Japan police department must've been on vaca last week -- local authorities there decided to use this shady-looking Mii to try and catch a man suspected of a hit and run. Crude, yet effective -- although something tells us a man with no arms who can still swing a tennis racket might just stand out on his own.

Update: The local police are apparently saying they're not responsible for the... uh, "mug shot," so, you know, mad props to the good samaritan out there doing their part to bring this case to a close.

how could i be the criminal?! i don't even look like a caricature!
hahah what if that was actually what he looked liked?
Epic Fail
@"I am not iEye, i swear"
What are you on dude?
They have some weird looking crooks in Florida too.

Why bring up iEye? He didn't post anything i can see.
These guys are clearly on acid, the writing is all crazy and going the wrong way.
mental
They drew little pictures instead of words, WTF
Probably other people in world or universe would think that the latin alphabet looks strange and written unintelligibly. The writing looks fine since it can be written traditionally vertical wise from left to right or horizontally from left to right or vice versa.
addendum to prior comment. vertical wise right to left
Looks like someone didn't get the joke.
Yep looks like the joke went over his head at 37,000 feet. That said sarcasm is hard to hear via the internet. And considering this IS Engadget where stupid people love to congregate to say stupid things. It wouldn't be impossible that someone actually thinks that, that is not writing.
How does he drive with no arms??
The same way he swings a bat with no arms?
The same way he keeps the ladies up all night...
;)
Question is, where does the clever editor at Engadget think arms should be protuding from, the face?
You all fail. The correct answer is: badly.
Lucas - Well, these mockups can be pretty vague... Hell, it could even me me. *Awkward Laugh*
Fahrenheit, anyone?
451? If so, win, my friend.
Nope, the game. Still win.
wow
It's doesn't surprise me. Lack of Grand Theft Auto on Wii is forcing people to take the matter into their own hands.
i thought japanese people had good manners
because someone said that you could leave your laptop on the metro and you would get it back
Yea I had a friend who was working there for a few years and happened to forget his PDA, and later that night the guy who found it brought it back to him at his apartment. Also the post said that the person is suspected or a hit and run, and not a car theft ;)
Really?! This is just another reason why Engadget is going down hill. Gizmodo had this article 5 days ago! 5 freaking days.
Engadget, stop killing yourself. You used to be the best, now you are like a crawling injured animal.
and yet you're still here...
"this is old news" people are the worst fucking people, sorry i don't read every fucking website like you but i thought this was funny
NO ENGADGET, HOW DARE YOU NOT REPORT THIS BREAKING NEWS THE DAY IT CAME OUT, ENGADGET YOU ARE ALWAYS LAGGING BEHIND ON JAPANESE MII WANTED POSTERS!!
It's hardly current events. They're first on what matters.
you have the insight of a 5 year old. you should probably just kill yourself.
@ Steven Garrad
Plus it was even on one of engadgets sister sites a few days ago.
Old news isn't just old, its prehistoric.
Ahh come on now. Engadget has been getting worse and worse of the last few months.
The fact they don't have anything to publish here for the weekend and recycle old articles is poor. Sure they have done this in the past, but it is happening more often.
Look Engadget has some good articles, but since Ryan left the direction does not appear as focused as it used to.
I think I've devised a brilliant solution. Just leave! It's obvious that nobody wants to hear you bitch and moan about old news because not everyone has the time to sit in front of a computer all day acting as a late news police. The time it took you to open the article (that you already knew you'd read, apparently,) read it again, and comment on it could have been in a much less annoying way.
Engadget is better than Gizmodo.
Don't make me start a facebook group about this!
could have been used*
I don't type well when frustrated..
i agree with steven garrad .
i should have known about this the moment it happened. why wasnt i informed. the lateness of this news item has serious devastating impact on my life....not.
Successful troll was successful. :P
haha funny
"im telling u it wasnt mii"
@ Steven Garrad: stop killing yourself by leaving gay comments that are the stuff of five year olds. Unless you are one and in that case, carry on...I guess
wow Japan Police need to, uh, up their standards or something? I know Nintendo is big there and all but, come on. Really? There going to use a Mii as a criminal sketch? One can only hope this is a joke...
Hey Joe,
How about not using "Gay" as a derogatory insult. You never know who might be offended by it.
Before you realize what's going on, the Gay Mafia will take you down and give you a makeover!
Hey Dex, how ironic....You told him not to use the word "gay" in a derogatory manner, then proceed to stereotype gays as enjoying makeovers. -.-
I'm Gay.....I'm allowed to play on our own stereotypes.
wooohooo double standards! hell yeah!
Aren't double standards what the world runs on? I'm just trying to fit in.
Lol @ProfessorDex
"Just remember, next time it won't be just your living room we rearrange."
-Gary Larson Cartoon
@ Mike
LOL Gary Larson is great!
Ha. That's like saying it's a double standard for someone to let their girlfriend/boyfriend grab their ass but to be offended by some guy who gropes them in the subway.
This is great, with my weird nose I can commit all sorts of crime in Japan and never get caught!
All I can say is this: Ingenious. Simply, ingenious.
But the real question here is, can Wii catch hiim?
Mii Oh My!
