i-mate's rumored "Hummer" rugged handset set to appear as 810-F?

It's been some time since we've seen anything new come out of i-mate, and while we glimpsed the 810-F as a rumor ages ago, we're enthusiastic that mayhaps i-mate's got a few tricks left up its sleeve. The i-mate 810-F apparently runs Windows Mobile 6.1, a 624MHz CPU, HSDPA, QVGA display, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, and a big 'ol QWERTY pad, all tacked together by a rubberized housing and some hex screws. Other notable features include a 2 megapixel camera for rugged shots, and 2.2GB of internal storage space. Warranty? It's lifelong, if it breaks they replace it. Not a bad outing i-mate and judging by the date on the pic above, I expect we'll be seeing you in Barcelona.

No thanks.
can we please stop naming cars and products after blowjobs? kthxbai
That sucks because I was really waiting for the HTC Cumgulp
It should come in purple. then it could be a vibrating purple hummer when it rings.
What's with the giant i-mate logo on the front? I don't like that logo at all. I guess you could scape the paint off...
I don't like i-diots who i-mplement a dash i-n between lower cased "i"s. What an i-ncredibly i-nconvenient and i-diotic thing to i-nclude in an otherwise i-nteresting and i-ntelligent device.
Whazzah!?
Oh my God! i-mate is still alive!!!
No seriously, I haven't heard about them in years.
n why do u think they make them rugged!
2 megapixel? Hello Kitty has better cameras.
It looks like a combo design of many things that are awful.
But I like the Grey/Navy/White color ensemble...
Im a douche..... Id buy this phone.....
@phanbouy:
Im with ya too man........ I want some female genital cars and phone names.....
Well, the good news from this is that Windows 6.5 looks like it has also received a cosmetic update. The top and bottom bars are transparent. In this picture sliding panels appears to be disabled.
Oops my bad, it is running Pro, but that does not look like 6.1.
The specs look good (other the camera) and I've always liked the front facing QWERTY keyboard devices, but the overall look of the phone is not my thing....call me when a Windows Mobile handset maker copies the Blackberry Bold.
UGLY, very ugly
The T3 link says it's just a 320×240 screen, not VGA. (The "Read" link just goes to the mfr main page...)
I for one, love the 'i' moniker.
I'm currently ramping up for the next evolution - the 'aye'. The greatest version of this technology all the way from Scotland.
The 'ayePhone', for example, is a special device that you put to yer heid, and when wallapers ask you "wit's that? Is that fae Apple?" you respond "ayePhone".
Also coming soon the ayeMac, a generic computer for folk fae the highlands, and the ayePod, a portable set of bagpipes for folk who lik' their tunes on the go.
So, what? Steve Jobs leaves for, like, 10 minutes and they come up with an Apple-made spouse?
almost read it as the "inmate" phone... name fail
kangbp.nyc fail perhaps?
looks decent, surprisingly
I actually like this
Note to world: quit "iNaming" everything!!!! Good God!! Are we done yet??
Did anybody read the actual article? Because all I see in the comments are complaints about how the thing looks or the vaugely similar name to a popular company's EVERYTHING.
But now to talk about what I READ IN THE ARTICLE:
The unconditional warranty that they're saying is going to come with the thing is utterly brilliant. One of my freinds bought a Sonim XP1 (look it up) with a three year Unconditional warranty, and when it did bite the dust (due to being accidentally opened while almost completely submerged in muddy water, no less), Sonim replaced it without question. And this is a tough little phone, if the battery door hadn't failed, it wouldn't have needed to be replaced.
Now, I'm not sure if 'Replacement warranty' is the same as 'unconditional warranty', but the way that Engadget have worded it (because for some reason the website won't load properly for me), it seems that it is. This is huge, because when a phone has a warranty that's probably going to outlive the device, that's a phone you can put some trust in not to let you down in tough situations. Mostly because when something has an unlimited breakage replacement, it's pretty much an invisible sticker on the box that says: "ASSHOLES AND IDIOTS, DO NASTY THINGS TO ME!"
Man, my old i-mate Pocket PC Phone was incredibly awesome. It's good to see that they're still around!
