MSI Wind U120 looks classy, classic in gray
MSI's Wind U120 just went on sale last month here in America, and already we're being presented with yet another hue from some other corner of the globe. The stark gray version looks to posses the very same innards as the white and black model already out, but externally, it's an entirely different animal. 'Tis a shame we haven't a clue where this is headed for release, but we'll put our bucks on somewhere not named USA -- at least at first.
Update: Well, what have we here? It's on sale now at Amazon for $349.99.

Now that is sexy!
It pays never to underestimate dull colours when applied in the right way.
die netbook! die!
Sexy, it just looks like every other net book!
Agreed.
Hi, this model is on the new MSI mobile website since a week ago:

It cost 429$.
ZipZoomFly has this for $330, free shipping. Same color and everything. They also have the older U100 for cheap as well if you like the look of that model. If you use the Live.com cash back you can get an extra 2% off:

Am I the only one that doesn't like this [lack of] colour? This particular shade doesn't appeal to me, maybe a darker one, or matt / gloss black or... colour?
As a U100 owner, I am not seeing the 'upgrade' to the U120. Its the same hardware, WITHOUT a spare memory slot. Why would I bother?
It is just an incremental update to the product line, you're not supposed to throw away your old Wind and buy a new one every time the model number changes...
I agree. This can't be considered an upgrade from the U100 series when it misses a vital upgradability feature. My U100 screams with 2GB running both Windows XP and Mac OS X.
I'm not saying I'd upgrade, but if you release a newer model, that costs the same, shouldn't it have something that the original didn't? The only REAL difference is the case, and the lack of a memory slot. If it had a memory slot, I'd say its done just for aesthetics, and that would be fine... but why bother redesigning the motherboard if all you're gonna change is the plastics?
Ian this isn't Apple, MSI won't force you into buy the new one. (I know you don't want one, I just had to say that.)
Anyway the difference between the U100 and U120 was supposed to be that the U120 was more energy efficient I do believe that is all.
I plan on buying a MSI Wind when they add NVIDIA Ion to it later this year.
looks like it is from the 90s
Looks duller than a dishwasher. I'd rather own an all-black or white version.
@the author:
"but externally, it's an entirely different animal"... dude, just say "it's gray"
Roll on the release of the Dell Mini 10.
i bet krylon has that color in their collection.
I have 3 words for this:
Me want, now!
Good thing they offer more colors for this model, I didn't like the two tone white/black combination on the firs U120s. The U100 still looks better IMO.
I agree about that lack of ram expandability, that sucks. I bought my u100 partly because it could handle a ram upgrade. Not only does my dual booting xp & os x u100 run VERY fast for my standard netbook usage (web+open office) but it turns heads too.
Although I admit it looks cooler and makes me look more l33t then I actually am. I owe it all to msiwind.net. The msi wind is a great product and with the u120 things are just getting cheaper. Viva the netbook revolution!
