Samsung's Ultra Touch S8300 handled ahead of MWC
Oh, brother. Really, Samsung? Are we seriously going to have to juggle completely unrelated names based on geographic location yet again? Unless our deductive reasoning skills are just utterly shot, Sammy's Ultra Touch S8300 -- which got official earlier this week -- will be known as the Tocco Ultra Edition in some corners of the globe. Nomenclature aside, what we're really here to discuss is just how striking this piece is, and if you're in disbelief, we'd invite you to give the read link a visit. Pocket-lint was able to score a pre-production sample over in the UK ahead of its "debut" at Mobile World Congress, and you know you don't want to miss that.

Finally!
A phone for people with severe hand cramps!
i'll assume that's sarcasm, so: www.jitterbug.com.
MMMmmm, tacos.
Seriously...if they're gonna leak out all their upcoming handsets like this, what is the point of having MWC anyways??
no WI-FI, shit
It 's gonna have wifi.
This one should become Sammy's flagship model taking the place of the excellent Omnia, to which is going to add fetures, not subtracting them.
I hope it will feature also the genial Omnia's mini mousepad (and mouse).
The coming crop of smartphones is gonna be incredible: Archos/Android 5 incer, the toshiba /win mob., The HTC whitestone, Nokia N97. It will be tough to make a choce
What were they thinking? A slide out, NON-QWERTY keypad?? Is the design section over at Samsung completely out of their minds? Dialing is the one thing I think everyone can agree a touchscreen is ok for, and who really wants to type out long texts on a non-qwerty keypad?
Why, samsung, why...
I think some people are still used to alphanumeric keypads because they are a lot easier to use. You can text someone by just using one hand. Unlike the iPhone/3G, most people would have to use both hands to type in their message and like the Palm Pre or anything with a QWERTY keyboard, you would still have to use both hands (unless you have extremely long wire-y fingers)
Just a comment
The phone I'm getting for mom... hopefully it won't be too expensive..
550€ SIM-free, apparently. So yes, it is extremely expensive for a dumbphone...
Could it be?
They got rid of the status bar and have those little icons floating! It's a miracle! Or maybe a theme.
(might have been done earlier while I drooling over smartphones)
while I was*
great another phone that does nothing to the iphones sales
Well, you'll never know. I actually like this more than the iPhone/3G. And, not everyone buys Apple products. Besides, Samsung is one of the leading brands in the cellphone market.
how many iphones have you gone through? i imagine you've ejaculated on or into your iphone at least more than once.
N95s already exist, I don't know what they're thinking.
