Nokia USA now taking pre-orders for 5800 XpressMusic
There are already plenty of ways to get an American E63, so don't pay too much attention to the phone on the left here -- but the 5800 XpressMusic... well, that's another story altogether. As rumored, the version of the S60 5th Edition handset with North American 3G is running $399 -- though a promotion on the Nokia site knocks 10 percent off of that right from the get-go. No ship date is listed (we're still hoping to see it later this month), so fair warning: all you'll really be doing here is getting in line and hoping that nothing at MWC this week cools you to the 5800's wiles.

link shows that this nokia 5800 has 900/2100MHz...so who ever said that this is the nam version??
Sean, if you had continued reading that part you would have seen that it does support American (3g btw) frequencies.
Operating frequency
WCDMA 900/2100 MHz
GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
hi there,
i guess you're not that familiar with 3g, but what you have written above is that 2g is supported on 850 MHz (EDGE), however 3G is not (900/2100). furethermore, i called nokia to clarify...at first, the lady at customer service told me the usa website is advertising the nam version. when i directed her attention to the specifications (as above), she put me on hold for several minutes. when she came back, she clarified that the the advertised 5800 is the european version, which is now being offered on the usa website because nokia is now offering it with usa warranty.
so, to summarize, the advertised 5800 will not support usa 3G! trust me!

Well, if that's the case then Engadget really should change this because it's pretty misleading. I have to say it's also quite misleading on Nokia's part as well.
believe me, i was not happy to hear what the rep had to say! i was very much looking forward to ordering one...
no AWS support still. :(
Just Great, I was about to order one. but i guess it really doesn't matter if i get the Non-Nam version since i am with T-mobile. the only reason i would like the Nam version is if i decide to go to the dark side with At&T at least i can use 3G.
